The woom EXPLORE 5 brings 8-speed trigger shifting and disc brakes to the 24ion category
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"The microSHIFT Acolyte trigger shifter is the right call for this age group. Index finger up, thumb down, clear gear indicator, and a rubber-coated lever that actually fits a kid's hand. Paired with the 11-32T cassette, this bike has the range to handle real terrain without overwhelming a young rider."
The EXPLORE 5's AA 6061 butted aluminum frame is built around child-specific geometry that positions riders in a lightly stretched stance, promoting proper form as they develop. The microSHIFT Acolyte trigger system pairs a rubber-coated lever with a precise 8-speed index action and a clear gear indicator, a meaningful upgrade over twist-shift for riders in this age range. Promax hydraulic flat-mount disc brakes run a 160mm front and 140mm rear rotor configuration, delivering proportional stopping force across varied terrain. The 11-32T cassette paired with a narrow-wide 28T chainring gives a gear range suited to both paved paths and gradual off-road climbs. As with all woom bikes, the ABC fit guide on both the stem and seatpost makes sizing precise and repeatable as your child grows.
Heads up - We do our best to keep bike specs and images current, but occasional component changes can happen without warning-and sometimes the photos might not show the exact build you'll receive. If you want to double-check the details, our Gearheads are always here to help.
