What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"The Ride GX runs the same dw-link chassis and Avinox M2S motor as the rest of the AMP'd family, so the platform performance is genuine. Fox Performance 38 and Float X are capable suspension components that handle real terrain, and GX Eagle Transmission with SmoothShift integration keeps the drivetrain communicating cleanly with the motor. The bones are right, and the build delivers where it needs to."
Who It's For
Developing to intermediate riders seeking a capable high-travel eMTB chassis they can build skills on without outgrowing
The Ride GX is engineered for riders who are ready to take their trail riding further and want a platform that supports that progression. Pivot's size-specific carbon layup process means each frame from XS to XL is independently optimized for stiffness and compliance at that size, giving every rider consistent handling characteristics regardless of where they land in the range. The MX wheel configuration pairs a 29" front with a 27.5" rear, balancing rollover ability with the nimbler feel that helps developing riders manage tighter, more technical lines with greater confidence.
What It's For
Technical trail and entry-level all-mountain terrain where motor control, suspension travel, and geometry work together
The AMP'd Ride GX is built around a 63.7-degree head tube angle, 443mm chainstays, and 160mm of front travel paired with 150mm of rear travel - a geometry package that handles demanding terrain while remaining forgiving enough for riders still sharpening their technical skills. The Fox Performance 38 with GRIP damper delivers consistent, controlled travel through rough sections, and the Float X rear shock keeps the chassis composed through repeated hits without demanding constant rider input. Avinox Smart-Assist traction control uses a 42-point rear speed sensor and gyroscope to detect and eliminate wheel slip on steep, loose climbs, making technical ascents more manageable and energy efficient.
Why We Like It
A chassis and motor platform engineered to full-power eMTB standards with a component spec built for real-world trail use
Pivot's dw-link suspension kinematics are designed to do two things simultaneously: transfer motor power efficiently into forward momentum and tune the rear wheel's axle path for improved square-edge bump compliance. That combination means the Ride GX climbs with less energy waste and descends with more traction and composure than a less refined suspension platform would allow, regardless of where the rider is in their development.
SRAM GX Eagle Transmission integrates with the Avinox system through SmoothShift, hardwiring the derailleur directly into the motor and eliminating the need for a separate derailleur battery. The result is smoother shifts under load, the ability to shift while coasting, and a partitioned reserve that keeps shifting functional even when the main battery is depleted. Sram Maven 4-piston brakes with 200mm Centerline rotors front and rear provide braking performance well matched to the travel and terrain the bike is built for, and the Praxis Alloy eCranks are engineered specifically for the torque demands of eMTB use.
The 800Wh Avinox battery and DP100 OLED touchscreen are carried across from the broader AMP'd platform, giving Ride GX riders full access to drive unit management, ride mode control, and system data through an interface that operates reliably with wet fingers or gloves. The OneUp Dropper V3 provides a generous travel range across all sizes, and the Phoenix Race Aluminum handlebar keeps the cockpit light and functional without unnecessary weight at this build level.
Heads up - We do our best to keep bike specs and images current, but occasional component changes can happen without warning-and sometimes the photos might not show the exact build you'll receive. If you want to double-check the details, our Gearheads are always here to help.

More Trail. Full Power.
Sharp handling and a settled ride, built on two decades of suspension design.

The dw-link Advantage
dw-link separates pedaling power from suspension movement, so the motor drives the bike forward instead of fighting the rear linkage. The rearward axle path absorbs square-edge hits without bleeding traction or momentum.

Full Power. Minimal Weight.
The Avinox M2S puts 130Nm of torque and 1300 watts through a 2.6kg motor. The Boost button unlocks 150Nm for 60 seconds when the climb demands it.

SmoothShift. One Less Thing to Manage.
Gear changes time automatically against pedal pressure and motor output. A partitioned reserve keeps the derailleur shifting even when the main battery runs out.

More Range. Faster Turnaround.
The 800Wh battery sits inside a narrow frame profile, keeping weight centered without adding bulk. The Avinox 508W fast charger, standard on Pro and Team builds, puts charge back fast.

Performance Redefined Since 2007
Pivot Cycles was founded in 2007 by industry veteran Chris Cocalis with a simple goal: build the best mountain bikes possible for riders who demand more from their ride. Drawing on decades of experience and a passion for engineering excellence, Pivot quickly became known for premium carbon frames, innovative suspension tuning, and bikes that excel across trail, enduro, downhill, and e-mountain categories. Based in Tempe, Arizona, Pivot combines precision design, rigorous testing on real terrain, and a rider-first philosophy to create machines that climb efficiently, descend with confidence, and elevate the entire riding experience. Rooted in community and a love of the sport, Pivot supports riders everywhere who know that the bike is just the beginning.
