We built long gravel routes around the Flyway C Apex Eagle AXS because it thrives when the pavement fades away. Salsa constructs the Flyway carbon frame around their Class 5 VRS™ design, a vibration-reducing system that smooths out rough gravel roads and washboard sections so we can maintain speed and comfort over long distances. The balanced geometry keeps the bike efficient in a fast paceline yet stable when the route turns rough and unpredictable.

The drivetrain centers around SRAM’s Apex Eagle AXS wireless system, combining drop-bar gravel ergonomics with Eagle’s massive gear range. The 40-tooth crankset paired with an 11–50t cassette provides climbing capability for steep gravel grades while maintaining efficient cadence on rolling terrain. SRAM Apex hydraulic disc brakes paired with 160mm CenterLine rotors deliver consistent braking power and control across changing conditions.

The wheel system uses WTB Speed Terra i25 rims paired with WTB hubs for dependable durability on rough gravel routes. Teravail Updraft 700 x 45mm tires add traction and compliance on loose surfaces, while the carbon Flyway fork and frame provide generous tire clearance for riders who want to run large-volume gravel tires. Cargo mounts across the frame and fork expand the Flyway’s versatility, allowing riders to configure the bike for fast gravel racing, endurance rides, or fully loaded exploration.
