Why We Like The Fillmore Valves

We think of our Presta valve as a constant. The fact is that it has gone unchanged for nearly a century. But, since we've embarked on a new age of modern tubeless technology, we have started to question if it's truly our best option. That's where Reserve's new Fillmore Valves come into play. There's no fussy valve core to cause issues, and it has three times the flow of a standard Presta valve. The key here is high flow, and no clogging. With Reserve's patented poppet-style design and simple adjustability, this valve is practically impossible to clog. Plus, it doesn't have a core to bend in case of a crash. For a tiny component, the Fillmore Valve receives top-quality treatment.

Love them

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer
Size Bought:
50mm

I installed these on my primary wheels for my gravel bike a year ago. Two months later I installed them on my 650b wheels after loving how they work. And now the commuter gets these valves. The design is much better than a presta with much more air going into the tire and much less clogging at the valve. Contrary to comments below, you can add sealant through the valves and it looks, from the reserve wheels website, that they have added a 70mm and 90mm valves to the existing 50cm valves for those with deeper wheels.

Not good for adding sealant

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Size Bought:
18 - 28 mm deep rims

These are obviously solid stems (but be careful) - they are so stout that if you side them on a rock you could easily damage the rim hole. However, I am returning them for another obvious reason that I should have seen before buying. You cannot add sealant by removing the center and hooking up your Stans Bottle device. VERY inconvenient. Buyer beware

Way, way too short

These are listed at 50MM, but that's all in. In reality, by the time you add in the red cone the short thread stack, they are closer to 25-30mm. For reference sake, I'm using Winspace Lun gravel wheels, which are listed at 38mm deep. The valves are so short I couldn't even thread the lock nut. Bummer, but I think these would be way easier to use than traditional valves.

Not long enough for TRS 249 Reynold rims

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

Wanted to give someone heads up if they're buying these for their TRS 249 Reynolds rims. The 50mm stem was NOT long enough, so don't buy these stems until they offer longer stems. I purchased these stems b/c I've had (2) friends tires go so flat at the trail head that the old presta stems wouldn't take air via Ryobi air-pump and had to drive to a gas station / bike shop. Of course we could have use C02 but then we'd have to change out our sealant later. So if these new Reserve Stems save me one time, it's worth it! But yeah, wish they were only $ 38 for the pair.

Really easy to setup

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

It's true you can set up a tubeless tire very easily with just a floor pump when you have these installed. At least the two I did, no issues at all. The design makes a lot of sense when you actually have them in your hands. Makes you think you should have came up with this idea, it's just a much better way to get air in a tire and keep it there. Dropping a psi or two mid ride or where ever is slightly easier than a traditional valve too, no core to unthread

Too short for lots of rims, but awesome!

Familiarity:

Not much more to say. Actually, a trailside pump broke some threads off of one...so you couldn't put the cap back on. Turns out you don't actually need it. But anyway, Reserve sent a free extra replacement set. Just wish they were longer so I could run them on more of my wheels.

These valves make your life much easier when setting up tires tubeless especially when not using an air compressor. Super easy to get sealant into the valve and not worry about it clogging up and needing new valves anytime soon. Overall been super happy with how easy they have made my life setting up stubborn tubeless tires.

Fillmore Complete Now!!!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I bought these valves three months ago and I have been gradually falling more and more in love with the ingenuity behind them. I only upgraded one of my bikes three months ago and find it more and more frustrating having to go back and use the Presta on my other rides.

Not an Issue with the Values

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

A big issue with Competitive Cyclist listing these as 50mm valves, writing no where in any description that they're only compatible with 28mm rims and yes, I guess I could have googled the compatibility before, but calling these 50mm valve is pretty ... silly? These are 30 mm valves that are 50mm long. :( Competitive Cyclist hooked me up with a free return though so, that's cool <3

These things are excellent

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Just installed my first Filmore Valve on a wheel, and I have to say I'm very impressed. Easy to fill with sealant, quick to inflate, no valve-core to get plugged. Now, all they need to do is find a way to lower the price so that it was a little closer to the price of your typical tubeless stem, and they need to make a longer version. With these two changes, these would easily be the perfect tubeless valve stem
