Aero-tuned Astr Apex XPLR AXS bike for fast, stable gravel performance
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"Ridley nailed the feel on this build—stiff where it matters and composed when terrain gets sketchy. The Apex XPLR AXS setup offers reliable wireless shifting with simple gearing that works well for fast gravel. Combine that with predictable DT Swiss wheels and the Astr geometry, and you get a bike that’s efficient on climbs, confident at speed, and easy to control across changing surfaces."
The Ridley Astr Apex XPLR AXS 1x12 is engineered for riders who want a race-capable gravel platform with wireless drivetrain performance and modern, aerodynamic shaping. Ridley’s HM carbon frame uses a carefully tuned layup to control stiffness and compliance, giving the Astr quick acceleration on climbs and stable composure through high-speed sections. Its lower bottom bracket and refined front end create predictable handling in loose terrain while improving aerodynamic efficiency on open straights.
The Apex XPLR AXS drivetrain brings electronic accuracy to the gravel category, with a 12-speed 11–44T cassette tailored to rolling mixed surfaces and steep pitches. The 42T chainring keeps power delivery simple and intuitive, while the Hydra-powered AXS shifting maintains consistency even under load. A Deda Superzero flared cockpit adds leverage and stability, and the DT Swiss G1800 Spline wheelset delivers reliable tubeless-ready durability across rough gravel.
With clearance for 52mm tires in a 1x configuration, the Astr supports everything from fast race-day rubber to high-volume adventure treads. Its BB86 bottom bracket, UDH compatibility, and removable front derailleur mount make it easy to pair with today’s evolving components. From competitive gravel racing to all-day exploration, the Astr Apex XPLR AXS is built for riders who want efficiency, control, and wireless precision in a single, adaptable platform.
Heads up - We do our best to keep bike specs and images current, but occasional component changes can happen without warning-and sometimes the photos might not show the exact build you'll receive. If you want to double-check the details, our Gearheads are always here to help.
