Why We Like The Terreno Dry G2.0 TLR Tubeless Tire

The Terreno Dry G2.0 is a gravel and cyclocross tire with a low-profile center tread that lets the tire accelerate quickly and hold its momentum with minimal rolling resistance. Nigh impossible to mount

I really want to like this tire and have just started riding it. However, it is the most difficult tire to mount that I have encountered -- and I have been riding road/gravel tubeless since the the beginning of tubeless era. You will need to use all your tricks and have massive grip strength to seat this. Even after pre-stretching it. A pro mechanic friend has a similar experience. It may also be sensitive to how much rim tape you use. On a HED Emporia wheel with 25 mm inner width, I found it impossible to mount the tire when using the recommended 27mm wide Stans rim tape but only nigh impossible with 25mm wide tape. That said, once the tire is on the rim, it held air for over two weeks without sealant. When testing the transition between pavement and dirt, this tire doesn't hook up as well as the other tires I have used like the Panaracer or Donnelly X'Plor MSO. It is noticeably more comfortable than these tires, though I am running a bit wider size with this tire and lower pressure (45 psi per the Enve tire pressure chart for my weight).

GREAT TIRES before rear flats every ride

Have these in 29x2.1 on a custom built Otso Waheela C. Aired up and installed nicely, though can't recall whether I needed the LBS to blow them onto the ED silver Emporium wheels. I don't recall them being difficult, like most wider rubber, so they've been installed for awhile now - 2 years I think. First had 27.5 Soma Cazaderos on this bike and they were wicked fast and agile, even at 50mm. But the Terreno's have been a very stable, reliable tire, up until the past month. They have ridden great on pavement, thick gravel, pea gravel, hard pack and even a little mud. They're not fast, but they are pretty sticky. I really loved them after they settled in. And they didn't let go once not once in rain or wet pavement. But couldn't be more irritated that the rear just will not hold air and I cannot find a puncture. I am flat after 20 minutes. So am looking to replace for IRC Boken Double Cross in 42mm. Should be fast enough and stable/agile for where I ride to be a solid upgrade.
