Barzo G2.0 XCR Tire

With the Barzo G2.0 XCR Tire from Vittoria, you can confidently tame technical cross country courses at speed. Using square profile knobs for durability and stability, the tire grips a variety of trail surfaces while keeping rolling resistance to a minimum. Its progressive sipe angles allow the tire to dig in even harder the further it's leaned over. It's simply a do-it-all tire that will have most of your trail condition bases covered as both a front and rear tire.

Tread matters for sure, however, it's only one ingredient that makes up a tire. Underneath those knobs is Vittoria's all-new XC-Race TLR casing made from nylon with 120 threads per inch. This is its lightest weight casing dropping grams over the XC-Trail version by forgoing the additional sidewall protection but gains cool brown sidewalls. Holding the tire onto the rim is a Tubeless-Ready, folding Aramid bead.

Vittoria owns the only extruder in the world that allows for 4 compounds in a single tread which it then fortifies with Graphene 2.0. This allows Vittoria to fine-tune the flex of the tread-base and tread-surface separately, placing the correct durometer Graphene 2.0 compound exactly where it is needed for maximum cornering, climbing, rolling, and braking performance. Additionally, durability and puncture protection is also improved, as the base compound resists punctures, and provides a more stable base for the tread.

  • An XC tire with an aggressive tread for most technical courses
  • Progressive sipe angle pattern increases cornering grip
  • Square knobs offer stability and durability
  • Graphane 2.0 compound increases wet weather grip
  • 4 compounds in the tread balance traction, rolling resistance, and longevity
  • Aramid bead offers an easy tubeless-ready setup

Follow Up Review

I've put it through the wringer
Size Bought:
6' 1"

After riding these tires for a while I can say they are pretty fantastic. I have used them on technical trails both dry and wet. They performed surprisingly well on wet damp muddy trails with lots of rocks and roots exposed. Climbing on slick roots is not fun but these XC tires did a surprisingly good job. A pair of these in 2.6 would be a hell of a fun tire! These are not a mud tire or heavy duty downhill tire but they are great all around tire for a XC hard tail.

Gravel Bike Becomes Monster Cross

I've used it several times

aggressive for a drop bar gravel rig but i go through grass and fields and muck pretty routinely. love how well they take me through it all. 700x2.1 had rubber hairs rub the fork so they likely need to go but only if i can find the 27.5x2.2s first. not noticing the higher rolling resistance on pavement b/c i am too busy looking for places to jump onto dirt. set up required LBS to pop them onto rims to set as my little pump could not seat them. once seated they filled nicely an easily though they still leak through side wall prolly b/c they're the race version. but they air up before rides and keep topped off through rides just fine. am refilling with air every 3 days and have also added a bit more sealant which seemed to help. these have transformed how and where i can ride. i am in love, but know they're still a bit long in the tooth for the fork. still, they look brilliant and ride extremely well. may be seeking more Vittoria out for my bikes especially since Panaracer tires seem to have lost their stick over the years.

Great All Around Tire

I've used it several times

I replaced the stock tires on my Trek when they wore out (500 miles). So far the Barzo's seem like a great tire. They mounted easily, I use tubes so I can not comment on a tubeless setup. They far surpass the ride, grip and performance of the Bontrager XR2's I had. I mostly ride my MTB in dry to semi moist conditions with an occasional mud hole and gravel trails thrown in. I am not an extreme MTB or XC racer so I can not comment on their performance in that regard. If you have a general use MTB that your looking for a good all around tire I think these are hard to beat. If you ride your MTB on pavement mostly these are not the tire for you and if your a mud junkie or into technical downhill then you might be disappointed.
