Bella 8.5in Short

Whether you're heading out to ride a gran fondo or taking a trip along the boardwalk, Terry Bicycles' Bella 8.5in Shorts will keep you comfortable and looking good.

The Bella Shorts were constructed from a Meryl/spandex blend. Meryl is an extremely lightweight, breathable material that allows the transfer of moisture from the skin to the outside of the fabric so that it quickly evaporates. It also features an anti-odor element thanks to a silver ion content, which means that it inhibits the growth of bacteria contained in the skin. Combining the Meryl with spandex creates a highly elastic fabric that provides exceptional muscle support while in the saddle.

The shorts feature a 6-panel design with flat-stitched panels so that you won't chafe. The front of the shorts are elastic-free so that they won't bind against your stomach as you're bent over the handlebars. Terry also added its Flex Air chamois. Made in Italy using Elastic Interface Technology (EIT), this is a 4-way stretch insert that uses multi-density foam to provide support for the sit bones and cushioning for soft tissue areas. The cover of the chamois is perforated for increased breathability.

The Terry Bella 8.5in Shorts - Women's are available in sizes X-Small to XX-Large and in the colors Black/fuchsia and Black/charcoal.

Big disappointment

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Runs small

Flimsy construction; padding is good for about 45 minutes, then it's as if there isn't any at all. Leg grippers don't grip. I went with these shorts because of good reviews on different websites, but I was very disappointed.

I am 5'1" and 99lbs. I am having a difficult time finding a short/pants that is not to bulky in the padding. Can you tell me what will be a good fit for my slim/petite body type? I was thinking an extra small but that may not mean that the padding is proportionate. Thank you.

High quality cycling short

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I needed a short for long (4+ hours) mountain bike rides with a good chamois and breathable lycra. This short has both. I wouldn't wear it under baggies as that would be too hot, but they perform great on their own, as they are intended to be used.. I tend to use cycling shorts for years and use them way past their prime and I'm hoping these shorts will last several years before that happens. Even with muscular legs, I'm usually a size small, but size medium fit me much better. I am 5'4" 125 lbs. Overall these shorts are great!

LOVE These!

Bought these on a whim, and absolutely LOVE them! The chamois is well-designed, and nicely balances padding and thickness. They're a bit tight in the legs; but I have larger thighs than most, so it may just be a "me" thing, and definitely not something I would discourage purchasing over. Buying a second pair, because these are the best shorts I've bought in a long time.

Favorite shorts! 3rd pair.

I've put it through the wringer

Love these shorts! Material is soft and feels great against the skin. Chamois is perfect for me. Leg stays put. Cushions, breathable, keeps me dry in dog days of summer/humidity. New York Summers. Pleasantly surprised how dry! Always comfy. Perfect length for me. I don't ride 50 miles...yet...however I spend an average of 2 hours on a ride. Purchased 1st pair last Summer. Loved from get go. Buying a large for Spring, or just days when I'm feeling bloated. Own 2 mediums. Backcountry typically saves you money over ordering Terry direct. I received 20% discount plus free shipping. Also received great deal on discounted Terry Jerseys. You can check their site for reviews as well. This is a Top Seller. True to size, you will love them I think! ! And if some reason not they have satisfaction guarantee. Happy Trails!

great length, helpful chamois

I am a 50 year old cyclist and didn't want tight compression or super short and low cut shorts. These are a great length, and the chamois is differently shaped in front than any of the other jillion shorts I've ordered. I went for a 30 mile ride as soon as I got them and they were fantastic. The only thing is that the leg rides up on me a bit- but some of the European shorts were squeezing my leg too much so I'll take it. I also need more padding for over 30 miles, but for an everyday ride these are great. I also like the simple yet flattering design (I got the black with white stitching) and they are subtle enough for me to wear with all my tops. The medium was more generously cut than some of the European mediums I've tried.
