Description

Code Brake Pads

These are original equipment SRAM replacement disc brake pads for Code brakes. They have a steel back plate and come in two compounds: organic and metallic. Organic pads have more initial bite and quieter braking. We'd recommend these for lighter riders and dry conditions, though it does come down to personal preference. For any wet weather riding, metallic pads are the preferred choice. Metallic pads also last longer and provide more consistent braking power on long descents, great for gravity trails and larger riders.

  • Original equipment SRAM disc brake pads for Code brakes
  • Organic compound has more initial bite and quieter braking
  • Metallic compound resists brake fade and lasts longer
  • Each package includes two brake pads and hardware, enough for one caliper

Will these fit a 2018+ SRAM Code R brake system?

Quiet, but wear quickly

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I bought these when my steel pads got noisy and the sound went away immediately. However I noticed a decline in braking performance and I burned through these so quickly. I am a big guy at 210 pounds. At this price I can't afford to keep using them. I went back to steel and bed them in properly and will not go back to organic. The performance is much better for me and I have minimal noise now - only when wet.

Confidence Inspiring Stopping Power!

It's easier to speed down the trail when you have great brakes working properly! I believe the metallic last a bit longer and have a bit better stopping power so I opt for those and they are great!

Magic on the stopping power, quiet ..yes they do wear out a little quicker, brake wisely and they last longer :) ..overall..organic is my jam!!

Solid organic pads

Pretty standard - good bite on the pads. They are organic so they will wear out faster but...pretty silent and good stopping power.

Organic or bust

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Love the organic sram pads in my code RS brakes. Great breaking power and super quiet even in rowdy terrain and after they get worn down. The metallic pads made tons of noise for me right out of the gate, so I replaced them with the organics pretty quickly.

Great replacement brake pads

Personally, I go with Metallic, as they do a bit better in the wet and tend to last a bit longer. That said, if you want to get the most stopping power, the organics are a great option as well.
