Description

Bigger is better.

It's hard to argue with lighter, stiffer, smoother ... the BB30 concept is a good one. If you plan on running a SRAM drivetrain on one of the many progressive frame designs with this oversized standard, you'll need the BB30 Bottom Bracket Assembly. The kit comes with two sets of steel bearings and mounting hardware for SRAM cranks and bikes with a BB30 bottom bracket shell.

  • Includes two sets of steel bearings and mounting hardware

Works Well

I ride the BB30 through crap conditions on a single speed drivetrain and they last about 4 years between having to replace the bearings if you are the type to ride it and forget it. It's an easy DIY replacement even with the press fit. You just need to make sure you have the right tools. Best to have Park Tools BBT 30.4 or BB 30.3 tool in order to punch out the old bearings. Suggested to use Park's press tool HHP-2 or HHP-3 to press the new bearings in, or you can do it the ghetto way and use a really long, heavy gauge, threaded machine screw and some washers and use the press cups that come with the BBT 30 tool.

    Great Price

Great BB for the money, rolls smooth and lasts a long time. My go to BB for the price.

    Your gonna need them...

Nothing special, but, you are gonna need BB bearings. For a 5 star, go ceramic.

      Unanswered Question

Is the SRAM BB30 bottom bracket bearing assembly kit compatible with my (2013 Cannondale Six-Six)) FSA BB30 road crankest?

      Works..........

But is quite a pain to get into the shell of course. The trick is putting the bearings in the freezer for a few hours to shrink them to slide in easier then as they heat back up they seat tightly. As far as performance................the system works. Nothing else to say here but if your bearings are worn then replace them. But have the right tools to make it easy.

Awesome, but yikes on that install. Also, I use gasket sealer (yes, the automotive stuff that comes in a small non-descript tube from 'auto-where-ever') between the frame and the steel body of the bearing - or, if your bike frame has a bearing retainer sleeve; between that and the frame. It goes on like grease, but then sets up like a tight rubber gasket after a day (and easily removed when changing them out later) Helps in taking out the imperfections of frame manufacturing. Also, nice to see that those bearing include a few plastic spacer shims, again - to eliminate any frame imperfections :) Happy riding!

      I have just bought a frame with a BB30...

I have just bought a frame with a BB30 bottom bracket and I am in the process of buying the components to go along with it. I plan on buying a SRAM Force gruppo but I am confused about what bottom bracket I should buy: SRAM PF30, GXP, and/or the BB30 Bottom Bracket Assembly kit?

Go with any SRAM that has BB30 - then your good to go - and will enjoy the solid performance :)
