We depend on durable components when our rides cut across rough trails, gravel shoulders, and thorn-covered terrain. The Specialized Thorn-Resistant Schrader Valve Tube is designed to minimize flats in those conditions, helping riders keep momentum when sharp debris threatens to end the ride early.

The tube uses a dual-thickness rubber construction that places reinforcement where punctures are most likely. The outer wall—positioned against the tire casing—is thicker to resist thorns, small stones, and sharp trail debris before they reach the air chamber. On the rim-facing side, the rubber is thinner to reduce excess rotational weight and maintain a more responsive ride feel compared to fully heavy-duty tubes.
