The S-Works Evade 4 Helmet delivers World Tour aerodynamics to every rider

What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

"The S-Works Evade 4 Helmet represents a meaningful step forward in both thermal management and fit precision over the previous generation. The 4D Cooling channel architecture moves air noticeably more efficiently on hard efforts, and the new headform with BOA FS2 fit system removed the pressure and hotspots I have experienced in other aero lids on rides exceeding four hours. For racers who spend time in the drops at high speed, this helmet is the benchmark."

The S-Works Evade 4 Helmet was not updated for the sake of updating it. Every change traces back to a specific performance problem that Specialized's WinTunnel testing and World Tour rider feedback identified in the Evade 3, and every solution was validated across more than 100 hours of aerodynamic and thermal testing before the helmet reached production. The result is a helmet that is simultaneously faster, cooler, and more comfortable than its predecessor without making any of those gains at the expense of the others.

The aerodynamic architecture begins with a TT5-inspired silhouette featuring a flat top and tail fins engineered to reduce turbulence across the shell at race speeds. Long, narrow side vents are shaped specifically to preserve laminar flow rather than interrupt it, and rear diffuser channels release air cleanly from the back of the helmet rather than creating a drag pocket. NACA vent geometry combined with aero-optimized vent architecture increases cooling airflow while simultaneously cutting drag, a combination that historically required compromise and here does not. The thermal engineering runs parallel to the aero work. Enlarged vents and a redesigned MouthPort increase intake airflow volume, and 4D Cooling internal channels guide that air deeper through the helmet's structure to address the hotspots that accumulate on long climbs and sustained high-output efforts. Validated thermal headform testing shows a 2.4% improvement in cooling over the Evade 3, a number that translates to sustained power output and reduced heat-related fatigue over the course of a race or hard training day. Mips Air Node Pro pads handle moisture management and sweat channeling throughout.

The fit platform received equal attention. A new headform blends the geometry of the Evade 3 with learnings from the Propero and Ambush 3 development programs, improving crown conformity and reducing the pressure points that aero helmets commonly create during long efforts. The BOA Fit System featuring FS2 delivers a micro-adjustable 360-degree wrap that lets riders dial in retention precisely without creating localized pressure, and Tri-Fix 5 straps improve overall lay and fit range for a more natural feel regardless of rider position or head shape.

The S-Works Evade 4 Helmet is the correct choice for road racers, criterium specialists, and gran fondo riders who prioritize aerodynamic advantage and thermal management at sustained high speed. It is equally at home on a World Tour peloton and a local Tuesday night race, and it is the helmet Specialized's own Factory XC and off-road teams reach for on long, fast gravel efforts where cooling is as critical as aerodynamics.
