Eliminator Grid Gravity 2Bliss T7/T9 29in Tire

Enduro and e-MTB riders seeking the ultimate in versatility will find it with the Eliminator Grid Gravity. The sturdy 2-ply construction offers great cornering stability and flat protection on gnarly gravity trails, while the tread pattern strikes a great balance of traction and fast rolling speed. This particular tire also benefits from Specialized's new Gripton rubber compound, featuring the harder T7 compound in the center tread for enhanced durability, along with the softer T9 compound in the side knobs for maximum cornering grip and slow, predictable rebound.

  • All-around tire for enduro, gravity, and e-MTB riding
  • T7 center tread offers enhanced durability and rolling speed
  • T9 side knobs rebound slowly for maximum traction and control
  • Dual-ply casing offers good damping and flat protection
  • Butyl-wrapped bead is tubeless-ready

Grip for days

So first things first. This tire grips like an absolute monster. Both acceleration and braking were far and above expectations. Cornering traction was amazing with the raised side lugs, and I never felt any sort of knob roll or squirm. The new rubber compound definitely lends itself to a confident feel mid corner and the point of breaking traction was easily noticeable. Rolling resistance is to be expected for the style of tire it is, it wasn't great but it did roll better than I thought it should. The downside for me was the damping from the rubber compound. I know this is what specialized focused on, and they wanted to make a tire that felt similar to something with a cush core in it, and when it comes to that, I think they 100% succeeded. This tire takes so much sting out of the trail I genuinely felt like I was less tired on the trails I've ridden hundreds of times before. My issue is there was SO much damping, that I lost too much trail feel. I prefer to feel the trail and the feedback coming up through the tires and wheels, and while the damping was amazing, the feedback was lost and I missed that. I do think however, that the "excess damping" in my opinion, is just that, an opinion. Other than that, Specialized knocked it out of the park with this one, and if you are looking for a badass heavier duty tire, look no further.

The new Eliminator Grid Gravity delivers! I've ridden a lot of different tires over the years and what really amazed me with the new Grid Gravity T7/T9 was how much damping the tire offered. Usually a Gravity tire with stiff sidewalls deflects more over the irregularities in the trail. Not this tire, simply run your normal tire pressure and point it through the gnar. With the increased damping in the tire I even opened up the rebound a little bit in the shock. With any sticky tire you will notice the reduced roll speed but the grip it offers his well worth the compromise for shredding the downhill section for the local KOM, enduro race or simply just monster trucking through rock gardens. I've been rolling this tire on the back of a Hightower now for a few weeks in the 29 x 2.3 version and hit everything from flow, to rocks, to hike a bike free ride lines and have been really impressed with the grip and wear of the tire. If i was signing up for the local Enduro race today this would be my rear tire of choice for a gnarly and steep enduro. Also adding in that I easily mounted this tire with a MTB floor pump no compressor needed. 175lbs I run 26 psi
