Syringe says single use only...seems a little ridiculous. Is that correct or are the syringe and tube sturdy enough for multiple brake bleeds?

Is this compatible with a shimano br-rs805 brakes? Also what is the recommended oil?

I have a bottle of Shimano mineral oil already. Is this all I need to bleed GRX hydraulic brakes? Reviews have mentioned a missing adapter. Is that applicable to GRX?

Does NOT include everything you need!

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Imagine, if you can, buying a brake bleed kit that says it includes everything you need. Imagine paying $15 extra so that it gets to you in time to fix your bike for the weekend. Then imagine, if you can . . . that it EXCLUDES an adapter that's necessary for it to work with any recent year's road or gravel Di2 / disc brake setup. If you buy this kit (without also buying the additional adapter), you won't have to use your imagination. Somebody needs to fix the product description to disclose the need for an adapter. (To Competitive Cyclist's credit, they are shipping the adapter out on an expedited basis.)

No adapter for funnel

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

From the description: "includes everything you'll need to perform professional-grade bleed maintenance on your hydraulic braking system." Except it doesn't. No mention in the description of needing an additional part (adapter funnel) to make this work with R7020/R8020/R9120 shifters.

Needs an adaptor for funnel!

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This kit will NOT work for the most recent Shimano brake systems (e.g. 8070). The funnel is too small to screw into the top port in the lever. There is an adaptor available (part number ST-R9120) which screws into the lever port, and then the funnel screws into the adaptor. Only with this can you get the last annoying bubbles out of the system. Should have been highlighted in the main description...

Hey Ray - thanks for the comments. For compatibility of the bleed kit as is - see Bill Sherman's post below. We do normally stock the adapter for the road shifters that are not compatible out of the box. The item # is SHI00MD-WH-FUNADAORI and should be back in stock soon!

Basic Bleed Kit

This is a basic bleed kit that gets the job done. Super easy to use. Make sure you have plenty of mineral oil.

Works Great

Works great. Easy to do. Makes brakes better than new! You might not even need new pads yet. I should have done this sooner.

It gets the job done

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Since I have a small shop in my garage where I tune up bikes for family and friends I figured I needed this kit. Very simple and easy to use (Thanks to Youtube). Not as complicated as a SRAM bleed kit.

Price is Nice

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This could be one of those items that Shimano could charge you a lot for and you don't seem like you get your moneys worth but this kit is half as much as I had to spend on the SRAM bleed kit. It would be nice if it came with a little mineral oil though.

Makes it easy

Like other users have said, the project is easy if you have the right tools. Just add fluid and you have everything you need.

I have Shimano XT's on my 2015 Trek Remedy 9. I didn't need to use the syringe. Just followed a tutorial on YouTube and was all set.

Everything you need except mineral oil

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

This kit includes the syringe and cup you need to bleed Shimano brakes. Mineral oil is a separate purchase. You will also need a 7mm wrench. The procedure is pretty straightforward, plenty of videos online.

First time bleeder

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Finally decided to do the job myself after spending 40$ for both of my shimano slx brakes to be bled. The kit worked flawlessly as I followed some instructional videos online. You just need mineral oil, a 7 mm wrench and you are good to go! The brakes felt great right away and still do after a month of riding.

Makes an easy job even easier

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Shimano brakes have always been easy to bleed compared to some other brands. This shaves off some time when I'm going through all the bikes in the garage. Not necessarily a requirement, and a little overpriced, but it does its intended purpose well.

Save yourself a trip to the bike shop and get this kit. Super easy to use and works great. No complaints at all.
