Dura-Acing the chainring test.

The fantastic engineering of Dura-Ace finds its way into every nook and cranny of the groupset, and that most certainly applies to the Shimano Dura-Ace 9000 chainrings. Made of precision-machined alloys that are carbide-reinforced for strength and longevity, the rings shift smoothly, look great, and last forever. Keep in mind, however, that they are designed specifically for Shimano 11-speed road drivetrains (and cranksets), so trying to use them for other drivetrains will notably compromise their performance. Available in both Silver and Black finishes, they come in many different sizes.

  • Machined alloy with Carbide
  • Shimano 11-Speed compatible

Can I make a 2X11 system into a 1X11 for with a ST-RS685 for CX? Right now it's 46/36 chainrings, but I'd like to go with just 42. Or 39? Thoughts? Thanks in advance

Good Morning Guys,

I have a Dura Ace 11s 53/39 and i want to chance from standard to compact.

My questions is: this crankset will fit? Because my mechanic said that i need one with BCD 130mm.

Here is the photo so that you can help me out.

Thank again

The dura ace 9000 (11 speed) is all th same bcd, along with 11 speed ultegra and 105

Will the 54t chainring work with an Ultegra 6870 front derailleur?

Will a 36t chainring work with a 50/34 Dura Ace 9000 crankset even though the ramps and pins on a 50t is optimized for 34t?

Is the inner chainring compatible with an ultegra 6800 crankset? Intuition says "yes" but I've been wrong before. Thanks

Yes, I have a dura ace inner because ultegra wasn't available when I needed it.

Are these chainrings compatible with the quarq Elsa RS?

Excellent question! These chainrings are compatible with the new Quarq Elsa RS. If there's anything else I can help you with please contact me at tjackson@backcountry.com.

I currently have the Dura Ace 7900 crankset with 52/39. If I bought this 36t would it still fit on the older (7900) crankset?

Thanks in advance

Definitely will not fit, The 9000 dura ace chainring has only a 4 arm design, 7900 series uses a 5 bolt pattern.
