Why We Like It
Santa Cruz moved to a four-bar Horst-link design on the Vala because packaging a full-power Bosch motor with VPP's lower link placement required too many compromises in suspension performance. The four-bar layout keeps anti-squat low and linear throughout the travel, which means the motor's power delivery doesn't interfere with suspension sensitivity and braking doesn't firm up the travel when the trail gets rough.
