The Split Pivot design separates the braking and pedaling forces so each can be tuned without compromising the other. On most linkage designs those forces share the same pivot, which means the suspension tune is always a compromise between climbing efficiency and braking traction. The Blackthorn 125 resolves that at the frame level, and the flip chip extends that versatility by letting riders dial in geometry and wheel size for the terrain they're actually riding.
