Extreme Lube
Extreme Lube is the most viscous of Rock 'n' Roll's lube formulations. It's for the nastiest, gnarliest, wettest, and muckiest conditions. Extreme Lube has a gel membrane suspended in the fluid. The membrane seeps deep into the rollers of each pivot, keeping the chain joints flexing, moving smoothly, shifting crisply, and doing everything quietly.
Rock 'n' Roll lube cleans and lubes at the same time. Dribble it on by putting the bike in its biggest gear and backpedal. Drip from the top over the chainring or cog. Wipe off the excess. Shift to the small ring in front to wipe off the big ring. Wipe till the chain shines. You can ride right away, but letting the excess evaporate for a few hours or overnight is best. And, despite the fact that this is Rock 'n' Roll's wettest lube, it's still drier and cleaner than much of what's available on the market. Rock 'n' Roll recommends not re-lubing until you hear squeaking. If you have more than one Rock 'n' Roll lube in your tool chest, you can put on the thicker formulations when it's wet and then apply the thinner when its dry and you don't have to degrease in between.
Rock 'n' Roll Extreme Lube comes in a 16oz. bottle and should last you for several seasons.

Good for Colorado Mountain Biking
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Mostly dry dusty conditions here. I have been using Rock N Roll Extreme (blue) for years now. Keeps the chain clean, good for several dry rides before needing to reapply. You can reapply and wipe excess of chain which cleans the chain quite a few times before really needing to get in and wash your drive train. Colorado also dumps heavy rain at times. I have used this in very wet conditions and rain. Not sure if anything really works well with wet grit, sand and mud on the chain. The only thing I can say is once you get home it is really easy to wash and clean your drive train and chain when Rock N Roll was used in comparison to using a super wet condition chain formula which is usually sticky, greasy, waxy and hard to clean off. Some of my friends have moved on to using another type of chain cleaner lubricant. They say it is better, but I didn't have the time to investigate and bought into a 16oz bottle of Rock N Roll. This is good stuff and will be using it for as long as that bottle lasts which could be a couple years more.
