Apex Stem

We'd like to say that the Renthal Apex Stem is the perfect match for your excellent new Renthal handlebar — and it is — but really, that statement is too small, because the Renthal Apex Stem is perfect for any handlebar. It's a fantastic piece of engineering and manufacturing from the geniuses over at Renthal's UK-based factory and headquarters, and it would be a great addition to any mountain bike out there.

The Apex stem begins life as a block of 2014-series aluminum, before it's CNC-machined down into the shape you see here. The remaining structure is optimized for absolute stiffness and durability — and with an extensive background in motocross, Renthal knows a thing or two about mitigating the torsional and impact forces imparted by wide handlebars. Still, weight is kept way down, making it an appropriate piece for cross-country machines, not just all-mountain heavy hitters. Those dual clamps up front that constitute the "faceplate" are fashioned from 7075-series aluminum, and their unique shape encompasses 240 degrees of the handlebar, more than virtually all other faceplated stem designs, affording an extremely secure, stiff, and stable platform while minimizing safety-compromising pressure points on the bar.

The Renthal Apex Stem comes in one finish —Black/gold, and in 10mm length increments, from 40mm to 90mm.
