XC and trail riding put competing demands on a wheel: light enough to accelerate quickly, tough enough to survive repeated punishment, and stiff enough to track predictably when the line gets technical. The Race Face Turbine SL 25 29in Boost Wheel addresses all three without asking you to move into carbon pricing. Available individually as a front or rear, it's built to Boost spacing throughout and covers a wide range of modern drivetrains on the rear.

The rim is formed from 6069 alloy, a harder and lighter aluminum alloy than the 6061 found in most wheels at this price. It's welded rather than pinned, which improves structural consistency around the rim bed, and arrives tubeless-ready with a 25mm internal width that works well with the 2.2-to-2.4in tires most trail and XC riders favor on 29er builds. Spoke beds are offset to improve tension balance between the drive and non-drive sides, a design detail that contributes meaningfully to lateral stiffness and helps the wheel stay true under hard cornering loads. Double-butted straight-pull spokes run a 3X lacing pattern, and five extra spokes ship with every rear wheel for trailside or workshop repairs. The Vault hub runs an oversized shell with a wide bearing stance and 3-degree engagement. For trail and XC riding, that engagement speed means less rotational slack between pedal strokes and more immediate response when accelerating through technical terrain.
