Creakiest cranks ever

    I ran these on a bronson for two seasons. First season they held up well, some creaks here and there but nothing to drive you crazy. Second season they sound like a creaky old bed frame with every pedal stroke. I've had chain ring replaced and bottom bracket replaced and all parts removed and cleaned...the creak returns in just a few mikes of service every time. Will never buy race face cranks again.

      Great cranks, stiff, easy to install. Great value for the price. The 30mm spindle is nice, but your choice for threaded BSA bottom brackets is very limited.

      I know the spiders and chainring are not included with the cranks. But how about the lock-ring? Does this come with the cranks? Thanks.

      Great Performance, Killer Value.

      I've always had great luck with Race Face products. These cranks are seriously light and plenty stiff and strong. The Cinch interface is great for chainring options as well as working on boost and non-boost bikes.

      Simply The Best Bang For Your Buck

      Looking for a lightweight, stiff, and durable crankset that works with boost and non-boost bikes? Look no further. You have found what you're looking for. These are the lightest alloy cranks I've found and they are also super stiff. In fact, I think I prefer these cranks to many of the carbon cranks I've run.

      Not sure if Race Face foresaw boost being a standard when they engineered this crankset, but it works perfect on boost bikes. You can dial in the chainline by flipping the chainring. Also, the Cinch system is amazing and allows you to run chainrings from 26T-42T. Oh, and you can get a few different colors which is awesome.

      It is alloy, durable, reasonably light, looks sharp, and is easy to install. This is the second Turbine Cinch set I've owned and I'm certain you can't find a better value right now.

      I've got turbine cranks on almost all my off road bikes (and I've got several). They've come on part of the parts kit on my Ibis and Santa Cruz rigs and I've bought them for my other steel and Ti bikes. Great combination of price, weight (low) and versatility with the cinch mounting system. They've proven bombproof on my bikes bouncing around trails from Targhee to to the Arizona trail and bikepacking trips in between. Easy to install, easy to change chain rings with a myriad of options in addition to the race face offerings (I'm often running absolute black oval boost, wolftooth oval and now planning to try to the wolftooth camo system).

      I'm a snob, no doubt. If it's not plastic, I don't ride it. That said, I tried a demo bike equipped with these cranks and I didn't even notice them. Don't take that the wrong way; that's a great thing! They're ultra stiff, decently light weight, and look swell on any bike. The versatility to run 1, 2, or 3x drive train with appropriate spider is a huge plus! It's a killer crank that will perfectly accompany your XC, trail, or all-mountain rig without breaking the bank!

      With a wealth of options on the market for light weight cranks; the Turbine stands out in price, stiffness, light weight; and especially compatibility as it will work with nearly any frame in existence.

      I have had these on my MTB this year, and am extremely impressed by their performance, especially given the cost.

      I think so. Really light for an aluminum crankset and no worries about smashing them against rocks all day. If you want to preserve the finish you can still get crankboots for them in a few different colors to add some flare. the only bummer is you have to run a Raceface BB. they are really fine but when you could've run a Chris King?

      Can I use a Shimano xt bottom bracket or I have to use RaceFace cinch bottom bracket for this crankarms?

      Boost Ready

        When building my new Pivot Mach 6 choosing the right crank and chainring was important because the 2016 Mach 6 has Boost spacing (12x148 mm rear axle). Race Face cranks and chainrings already work with Boost; for both Shimano and SRAM you need special Boost cranksets with a 3mm offset. I paired these Turbine Crank Arms with the Race Face Narrow Wide Cinch Direct Mount Chainring in Black 30T, which is well suited for a 1x11 set-up riding in the mountains with lots of climbing.

        24mm spindle for the Turbine Cinch?

        Do raceface make a 24mm spindle for this crank, as I would love to run this with my Chris King 24mm threadfit BB? Thanks

        They do make this with a 24mm spindle, but we do not have any right now.

        What is the Q-factor on this crank? Thanks!

        It would be a 168.

        According to Race Face, Q-factor on this crank is 178. Wider than usual. Kinda odd since the Next SL is a more typical 168. Did not notice the difference though when I demo'd a Nomad with the Turbine from the Santa Cruz factory for 3 hours.

        Is this crankset compatible with the Chris King Pressfit 24mm BB, or is the SRAM GXP BB92 BB a better choice?

        Unfortunately, neither of those BB options will work because of the oversized 30mm spindle used on RF Cinch cranks.



        If your frame uses the BB92 standard you'll actually need the RaceFace BB92 Bottom Bracket:

        This BB92 bottom bracket differs from all others in that it's designed to run 30mm spindles; all other BB92 BBs can only run a 24mm spindle.

        The description states that the spider isn't included with the crankset, can I purchase the spider on this site? I can't seem to find it's listing. Is this the 2015 model?
