The Race Face Turbine Rear Wheel is engineered around one reality: rear wheels take more punishment than anything else on a mountain bike, and they need to be built accordingly. The 29-inch, 12x157 Super Boost configuration is built on a 6069 aluminum rim with a cross-sectional profile that varies by position — more compliant in the areas that handle trail chatter, stiffer where the structure needs to survive big hits and heavy landings.

The 30mm internal rim width is optimized for modern high-volume tire fitment, providing a stable bead platform that supports tire shape under cornering loads. Anvil Edge bead shelf technology flattens and widens the rim's contact surface, distributing the force of a pinch flat impact across a broader area. The result is reduced risk of the catastrophic sidewall tears that destroy tires and end rides. The wheel ships tubeless-ready with tape and valve installed, and five spare spokes are included with both front and rear wheels.

The Vault 422 hub is built for the 12x157 Super Boost rear end, using large-diameter 6902 bearings for smooth rotation under load and low-drag labyrinth seals that exclude mud, water, and debris without creating meaningful friction.
