Making the cut, and then some.
If you're in the market for a downhill-worthy carbon bar, your choices are limited to a very select few that live up to the rigors of testing like that done at Race Face's facilities in Vancouver, Canada. The company is thoroughly obsessed with blowing the lid off of rider capability, and making sure that its components maintain their reputation for being the toughest in the business is key. Enter the SIXC DH Handlebar, with its unmatched durability and crazy low weight, it defies riding categories.
Race Face starts with its "leading edge" carbon composite material and shapes it into a 785mm-wide bar with 8 degrees of backsweep and 4 of upsweep. The result is bombproof construction and a comfortable configuration. Race Face also reinforced the grip areas of the bar to withstand the clamping force of lock-on grips — a no-no with most carbon bars. And while it may not be as light as the company's vaporous Next series of components, this 785g bar tips the scales at a mere 220g.
The Race Face SIXC DH handlebar has a 31.8mm clamping area, a 19mm rise, and comes with Red, Blue, Green, Turquoise, and Silver/white graphic finishes. The bars can be trimmed safely down to 710mm wide.
