Add some color and protection

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have SRAM X01 Eagle cranks and the Next SL/Sixc fit perfectly. Great way to add a bit of color while protecting your cranks!

Use Protection

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Always use protection when you spend extra on those fancy carbon cranks. These will help when you undoubtably strike some rocks while getting gnarly on the trail. Better safe than sorry!

Did you just spend a pretty penny for carbon Raceface cranks? Do you rock strike all the time like me? Do you want to have to buy new cranks cause you didn't want to put booties on? If not, I'd throw a pair of these on.

Usually the cranks come with booties, but if not or you want to bling your bike out with some color, these are a cheap way to keep them safe. Pay attention to the model, it can make a difference on compatibility. If you have any questions, feel free to call my direct line 801.204.4547 or email me at cojohnson@backcountry.com

Protect your cranks

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Be sure to shell out a few extra bucks to protect your expensive next SL cranks. Definitely worth it to ensure maximum longevity of your crank arms. Pedal strikes and crank strikes are inevitable.

Must Have

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These are a must have for Carbon cranks! Add a little color for a different look.

Cover 'em up!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is the best way to make those expensive carbon cranks last longer and look better! Nobody likes to smash their cranks into a rock, and this is the best way to circumvent such a catastrophe. Well worth the money!

Does what it says on the tin.

I use these boots (black colour) on my cross bike to protect my power meter (as much as possible). I have a Quarq meter on 1x as a point of reference.
*Fit is spot on - they're nice and snug.
*Protection works well as the rubber is thick enough to protect even from tough whacks.
A simple and effective little product.

G4 boots could use some re-engineering

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The new crank boots for the Next G4 cranks are made of a different, much weaker material than those for the prior generation Next/SixC and those for alloy cranks. I had a set of Turbine cranks with corresponding boots that were made of a dense, plastic-like material and they lasted over a year with minimal wear. Since changing to the G4 boots for my new cranks, I seem to punch a hole in the thin, rubbery material almost every ride, necessitating a new pair at least monthly if I want them to protect my cranks.

Raceface has made an incredible crank in the G4, but these boots have fallen short and would have been easy to make more durable.

I am going to attempt to cobble together a way to use the older boots from now on.

Jason, I literally just emailed RF about this. I am on my 4th set this season. With today's lower BB's its never been easier to pedal/crank strike. Thank you for posting this.

Good Quality, double check the size

Great product but is to big for Alloy crank. I bought for my Tallboy C S with alloy race face. Seems they fit greaton carbon cranks

Always use protection

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

If you have a nice set of carbon cranks you're going to want to keep them looking fresh. These booties are the best tool for the job. They install easily and with abundant color options you can add a little color to your ride.

I purchased the Next SL/SixC model for my X01 Eagle cranks. They fit well and look great. Keep in mind that if your cranks barely clear your rear chainstay these may not work on your bike.

Highly Recommended

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

If you have carbon cranks, then you are going to want these. You may think you don't at first and think you never clip you crank arms on rocks. Just wait, it will happen, and you will wish you had bought these. Save your cranks!! Super easy to install.

Must Have For Carbon Cranks

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought these to put on my X01 Eagle Cranks and they fit perfectly! I purchased the Next SL/SixC version to fit my cranks. If you have carbon cranks then these are a must have. A cheap fix to keep your cranks looking brand new!

I got them in turquoise to match my new Yeti, however it is not a perfect match in color. Close enough to keep rocking them though! That is the only reason I gave them a 4 star review.

Rock Stike Away

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

If you have carbon cranks, you need these. They look great in every shade of black and feel free to go crazy with the colors if you want to match everything up for some added flare. Simple design and brilliant product; now if the crank companies could just provide these already on their cranks... that would be wonderful.

Protect Your Cranks

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

After investing in Next or SixC cranks why would you not protect those little arms with these booties. A necessity

Necessity, Colors Are Off

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have these in Green. They don't match other green/lime colors by RaceFace. They work fine, but it would be nice to see them put a little more effort in to matching colors.

Which one fits the turbines tips?

Practice Safe Biking

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Crank condoms. Keep the rocks and boulders away from scratching your cranks with the RF crank boots.

One of the cheapest bike parts/accessories that adds a really nice look and added level of protection to your RF crankset. I have the Race Face Turbine crankset (on a Santa Cruz Hightower) and the Next SL/SixC fits them fairly well... not a perfect fit, but does the job.

Give me a shout if you have any biking questions, needs or concerns and I'd be happy to help!

Which one of the two fits a shimano M627 crank? The one for G4 or the one for NEXT?

Protects you cranks

I'm not sure why, but I bash my cranks on rocks a lot. So when I got fancy carbon cranks, these were a necessity. They have done absorbed a ton of abuse so far and don't seem any worse for the wear.

I got the black and they are discrete and you'll soon forget that they are there. Until your crank hits a rock, and then you'll be happy to have them.
