Built for the full-force punishment of gravity riding, the Atlas Handlebar delivers precision without the fatigue

What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

"What GL Tune actually does is tune the lateral compliance of the bar to dampen high-frequency vibration — the kind that builds up over a full day of DH laps and leaves your hands and forearms wrecked by the end. It's a different engineering approach than just building a stiffer bar and calling it done. Combined with the three rise options and direct mount compatibility, the Atlas covers every DH and gravity setup I can think of at a price that makes it the obvious choice before you start looking at carbon."

Most gravity handlebars optimize for one variable: strength. Race Face took a different approach with the Atlas Handlebar, engineering GL Tune — a compliance profile that reduces fatigue-inducing vibration transmission without compromising the lateral stiffness that precise, high-speed steering demands. It's the same tune used on bars ridden at the World Cup DH level, where the difference between a bar that absorbs chatter and one that transmits it directly to a rider's hands and forearms is measurable in lap times and felt across a full day of racing.

The bar starts at 800mm — wide enough for the leverage gravity riding demands — and includes onboard cut marks for trimming to 760mm without additional tools. Three rise options cover the full range of gravity and DH setups: 20mm for riders running taller head tubes or shorter stems, 40mm for a more aggressive cockpit position on steeper terrain, and 55mm for the highest-rise setups where balance and confidence on extreme gradients is the priority. The 35mm clamp diameter provides the stiffness-to-weight advantage over 31.8mm that gravity riding warrants, and direct mount stem compatibility extends fitment to riders running stems without a traditional clamp. At 318g for the 800mm, 40mm rise version, the Atlas is competitive on weight without requiring the carbon price premium to get there.

Seven anodized color options — Black, Stealth, Orange, Blue, Purple, Silver, and Kashmoney — allow riders to build a visually cohesive cockpit rather than defaulting to black by necessity. Race Face backs the Atlas Handlebar with a Lifetime Warranty with crashes included, a coverage level that reflects the confidence the GL Tune engineering and 7000-series aluminum construction warrant under the full-force punishment of gravity riding.
