Handlebar choice affects steering precision more directly than most components on a trail bike, and the clamp diameter is where that precision starts. The Race Face Aeffect R 35mm Handlebar uses a 35mm clamp over the more common 31.8mm standard, producing a measurably stiffer connection between bar and stem that reduces flex under load and sharpens front-end response on fast, technical terrain.

The bar starts at 780mm — wide enough to provide leverage and control through rough, off-camber sections — and includes onboard cut marks for trimming to the rider's preferred width without measuring or marking. Most riders run somewhere between 740mm and 780mm, depending on shoulder width and riding style; having the reference marks built into the bar removes the guesswork from a mod most all-mountain riders make anyway. The geometry runs 8° of bend with 5° of upward sweep and 20mm of rise, a profile that places hands in an aggressive but sustainable position across long days on technical trails. The sweep angle in particular reduces wrist fatigue on rough terrain where grip tension builds over time.

Construction is 2014 aluminum, a high-strength alloy that delivers a favorable strength-to-weight ratio without the cost premium of carbon.
