Description

It flies under the radar.

Shorter saddles made an emergence on TT bikes over the past few years. With the governing body calling for a certain "saddle nose behind crank bolt" distance some riders would even go so far as to have their mechanic take a saw to the nose of the saddle to make it comply to the rules. By running a shorter saddle, a rider can position it in a more forward, powerful, and aero position while on the extensions. Aero queues are now more commonplace on drop bar road bikes and these shorter, wider saddles are appearing on breakaway artist's bikes with a great saddle-to-bar drop. One such saddle is PRO's Stealth Saddle. A large anatomic recessed area helps reduce pressure on soft tissue parts while riding all-day in an aero position. Subscribers to the "slam-that-stem" mindset or those budding to make the day's breakaway stick might find PRO's Stealth Carbon Saddle to their liking.

This saddle uses stainless steel rails for strength and lightweight. A smooth PU cover reduces friction with shorts so you can maintain a smooth pedaling stroke. 142 and 152mm widths are available and the stiff and lightweight carbon reinforced polymer in-mold base construction yields support and riding comfort. Covering the shell, EVA foam provides proper padding that is firm and won't rob you of any of your pedaling power. The wider nose is stable when creeping forward and getting low while the tail flares up providing a supportive perch to push against while climbing. Under the saddle at the rear, the accessory mount point allows you to attach a race number, light, fender, or camera mount.

  • A saddle that supports those looking to get low
  • EVA foam padding provides comfortable support
  • Durable and smooth PU cover reduces friction
  • Carbon reinforced polymer shell minimizes weight
  • Deep relief channel relieves pressure

Looks that kill... your a&&!

Great looking seat. Seriously. It is so damn pretty to look at. Giving it 3 stars rather than 1 because I know the seat is high quality and I play a part in whether any seat will be right or wrong for me. I purchased the 143mm new, got it dialed in for angle and setback and knew during that process, within 5 mississippi of putting my soft bits on that cutout, that this was not a good saddle for me. It is the first saddle I have ever used (specialized, ergon, sellesmp) that I knew immediately would be terrible for me. I gave it a week if agonizing daily commuting 30-50 miles a day. I fiddled with it but there was no improvement. It is the saddle shape itself, the width of the cutout actually, that just caused the edge of the cutout to press on a nerve or blood vessel. It is also very hard for the amount of padding it has. It looks like it will feel like a dream but for me it wasn’t so. Returned it. For reference, I am 5’7” 130lbs with 10cm sit bones. Yeah, narrow pelvis. Tried a Specialized Power Arc. Several hundred miles in and so far so good... and it IS so good.

This is an excellent illustration of just how individualized saddle fit is. I have 152 mm version of this saddle on all my bikes (from non CC retailer, hence no prior review here), replacing prior SMP lite 209s, which stopped agreeing with me. For reference, I’m 6’ 170 lbs with much wider pelvis than reviewer (fizik arione is my kryptonite). Set up with 3 deg down angle and a bit forward on rails, I love it!! It’s a little firm on sit bones at first (need great bibs) and nose seems abnormally wide but quickly adjusted and zero perineal pressure. Zero. Not even a tiny hint after multiple hours in saddle. For me, rides fairly similarly to comparable width spec power, but find that I can slide forward and ride on rivet much more comfortably given increased width of saddle nose and cutout. If you don’t have classic svelte roadie physique, give it a shot and you may be very pleasantly surprised. Changed my riding enjoyment substantially!
