Compact, capable, and chrome plated, the PRO Mini Tool 8 is always ready
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"The 8mm hex is what sets this apart from most compact multi-tools that stop at 6mm. Crank bolts and some axle hardware need that size, and having it in a tool that still fits in a jersey pocket means I am not carrying a second wrench just to cover that one fastener. The chrome plating on the tool faces has held up cleanly without any signs of wear or corrosion."
A multi-tool earns its place in a kit by covering the fastener sizes that actually appear on a bike in a package that a rider will consistently carry. Too large and it stays home. Missing a critical size and it fails at the moment it matters. The PRO Mini Tool 8 is built around the fastener reality of modern road, gravel, and mountain bike components, combining seven hex keys from 2mm through 8mm with a PH2 Phillips screwdriver in a chrome plated alloy body sized for a jersey pocket or compact saddle bag.
The inclusion of an 8mm hex key is the specification detail that separates a genuinely complete compact tool from one that covers most situations. Crank arm bolts, some thru-axle hardware, and select stem fasteners on various platforms require 8mm engagement, and a tool that stops at 6mm leaves the rider without recourse when those fasteners need attention. The 2mm and 2.5mm keys at the small end of the range cover cleat hardware and small component adjustments that a larger tool range often omits. PH2 Phillips engagement handles derailleur limit and tension screws, the adjustments most likely to need attention when shifting performance drifts on a long ride or in changing conditions.
Chrome plating over the tool faces provides corrosion resistance across the full range of weather and storage conditions a cycling tool encounters, and preserves the dimensional accuracy of the hex profiles over repeated use, reducing the risk of fastener rounding that softer or uncoated tool steel is prone to under torque. The alloy body keeps the overall package light without sacrificing the rigidity needed to apply meaningful torque through the shorter lever arm of a compact multi-tool format.
