BBT-10.2 Crank Adjusting Cap Tool
Instead of the plastic tool Shimano includes with its Hollowtech II crank/bottom bracket systems, use Park Tool's BBT-10 Crank Adjusting Cap Tool to remove and install the adjusting cap. Made from investment cast steel, the BBT-10 provides strength and leverage to easily remove seized caps or make small adjustments.
- Easily adjust your Hollowtech II cranks
- Strong, durable, investment cast steel
- Compatible with an 8mm hex for added leverage
- Built in safety plate hook

Must have

- True to size
I don't like that you need this tool to remove the cranks. There is the plastic version, but would you use a plastic allen key? No. So spend the extra couple of bucks for this metal version. It also has the hook to pull up the retaining washer. I just hope I can find this tool again when I need it in a few years.

Seems super durable and the coating will last a long time especially with removing the plastic screws cap on Shimano Cranks. Very simple to use; before I was using a flat-head screw driver wrapped in a shop rag. Broke down to buy this and it should be one of the first tools to add to your toolbox for cycling.

Better than the plastic one
Plastic version of this strips out too easy. Love the metal version. The perfect size so you don't over tighten the bolt.

One of my favorite tools in the toolbox

The original BB10 was a great tool, and one of my favorites. Adding the prong to remove the safety clip from shimano cranks was brilliant and makes the tool honestly perfect in my opinion. Great if you spend a lot of time working on shimano hollowtech II style cranks.

I'm building a travel bike for airline accessed riding and using some left over but still good parts to complete the build--including an XT hollowtech crankset that requires this type of tool for install. Bought this tool so it can go in my travel kit for bike assembly and disassembly. Pleased at the small size and being metal construction--iit will have durability to bounce around airports in my travel case and still function properly when needed. Great for you home mechanic tool kit too. Get one.
