Thin, protective, and so cute!!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I have never gotten more compliments on a shirt in my life. I did a summit hike in it yesterday and was stopped 3 separate times to take about it. It's thin, I felt fully protected from the sun, and it kept me cool. The thumb and ponytail holes are also a total game changer.

The Best Sun Hoodie
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I bought one a few months ago because I wanted more sun protection when I hike and backpack. What sold me on this one was the pony tail slit in the hood!! I couldn’t believe somebody finally did this! I was going to pay someone to put a slit in the back of another sun hoodie I own. Another plus is that it is so lightweight. I loved it so much I bought another one.

Lightweight and fits great!
As an avid backpacker, I look for lightweight, breathable, quick drying clothing. This hoodie checks all of those boxes. It fits great and pairs so well with the beanie.

By far the best sun shirt out there
I have tried so many different sun shirts for intense outdoor activities, and this one is the best. Even in humid conditions this shirt breathes so well. The sun protection is fantastic (worn many times during spring ski tours). I have purchased multiple colors of this shirt over the years, and it never disappoints!

Not durable
Within an hour of wearing this shirt for a casual kayak outing, the sleeves and body showed moderate signs of wear. The arms and side have rubbed a large pilled patch. I expect this shirt to last only 1 season at most. I like the features and fit of the shirt very much. The hood fits nicely, isn't too baggy, covers my neck well without being baggy or too tight. Love the thumb holes to help keep my arms and hands covered. Light weight and not too hot (just maybe too lightweight to last more than a few wears.) I have a medium blue color, which is not see-through the way some other reviewers have noted.

LOVE LOVE these hoodies, now in patterns!
I have been a big fan of my Echo hoodies for many years now, but I was always disappointed that they were only available in solid colors (and usually dark/dreary colors, though I have bought a few awesome bright shades). When I finally saw these Echo hoodies with contrasting sleeve colors and patterns I knew I had to have a few! They're every bit as awesome as the original Echo hoodies, but have the improved thumb loops in the sleeves instead of those old "mittens." The hoods on these newer Echo hoodies are a little roomier than the older hoodies, so keep that in mind. I don't mind it, they're just different. I'm 5'6", 126 lbs with a very narrow athletic build and I wear XS in the Echo hoodies. Great lightweight shirts for runs, hikes, etc., I just wish they were a little more sturdy. I'd sacrifice a bit of weight and breathability for a shirt that doesn't snag on something as simple as a rough patch of skin on my hands or touching other clothes in the washer. Overall these are great shirts; just expect snags and pills over time. It's the price we pay for featherlight shirts that pack down impossibly small and dry instantly. I have put hundreds of trail running miles on a few of these and they're looking a bit rough but still performing great!
