Dry Power Lube

Motorex Dry Power Lube is designed for riding in dry, dusty conditions and for riders looking for a clean-running chain lube that prevents unwanted build-up. Traditional wax-based lubes only coat the surface of your chain, doing little to lubricate internal chain pins, rollers, and plates. But Motorex Dry Power Lube uses a unique wax/oil formula that penetrates into chain pins more effectively than other lubes, lubricating your chain inside and out to prevent accelerated wear and tear. In dry, dusty conditions where sand and grit wreak abrasive havoc on unprotected drivetrains, this kind of protection is a must.

In addition to lubricating internal chain points more effectively, Motorex Dry Power Lube's wax/oil formula also means that it does so cleanly, without the sticky build-up of dirt and grime often associated with other wax-based lubricants.

Even better, Motorex Dry Power Lube is designed to be fully compatible with Motorex Easy Clean Degreaser, meaning its safe to use immediately after cleaning and degreasing your chain. Most degreasers and solvents need to dry completely before you re-lube, otherwise, the remaining solvent immediately breaks down whatever new lubricant you apply. But thanks to the compatibility of Motorex Dry Power Lube and Motorex Easy Clean, the degreaser's solvents won't prevent your fresh lube from quickly doing what it needs to do.

  • Wax and oil-based dry lube to lessen friction
  • Prevents premature wear and corrosion to chains
  • Deeply penetrates into chain for greater protection
  • Spray and drip versions for quick and easy application
  • Ideal for road, mountain, and cross bikes

Not Road Lube

I've put it through the wringer
True to size

Having used Motorex lubes for years on my KTM's, I bought this lube with the intent of utilizing it for light road lube. Big mistake. This lube is better suited to offroad use as it requires dust to cling to it and pull it off the drivetrain, similar to Dumonde Tech lubes. If you use it on your road bike, it leaves a grinding film on the chain that basically ruins the entire drivetrain by creating a gritty paste. Even wiping this lube after application and after rides, it does not come off. It cost me two Dura Ace chains and cassettes to learn the hard way. Steer clear if you're planning on using this for road. Can't speak to it's offroad use, but should perform similar to Dumonde Tech regular lube.

I've put it through the wringer

Motorex may be newer to the scene but if you have not tried their stuff I definitely would give it a go. Everything I have used so far is super Legit. Used this in Moab and it worked great. My product cabinet is slowly filling up with Motorex.

Like new... only better

I've used it several times

Riding primarily here in Utah, I have plenty of experience with dry lube. I have a new favorite-- this. After I wash my bike, I add Dry Power as a final step. It doesn't take much of this stuff. I then let it sit for a few hours (sometimes overnight), before wiping off any excess. The more time you spend wiping, the less it will attract dirt on you next ride. I probably re-apply more than necessary, but this stuff can last a very long time-- easily over 150 miles.

Great chain lube

I've used it several times

Like Forrest said below, I have used Dumonde for years. I tried this stuff, and am sold. It's definitely a pretty viscous chain lube, which is great because not as much is needed to get a good coating on the inner links of the chain. I did find that the best results occurred if I applied the lube and let it sit overnight before I wiped it off. Make sure you REALLY go crazy with wiping the chain down, and it will stay nice and clean. I have about 150 miles so far on mine and haven't needed to reapply yet.

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This stuff works awesome and last long. Definitely my new favorite brand of chain lube.

Changing my ways

I've put it through the wringer

I have been a Dumonde tech preacher for years. Nothing against Dumonde, but I am all about this dry lube from Motorex, super low friction, it lasts and you can control the flow with a slight twist of the top cap. This is the best dry lube you can buy for riding in dry conditions!
