The four-piston caliper is the foundation of the system, generating braking force that standard two-piston setups cannot match under the loads that heavier e-bike builds create. Carbotecture construction in the lever housing brings the overall weight down while maintaining the rigidity needed for precise lever feel and consistent modulation. The three-finger aluminum lever blade with ball-end is shaped for extended braking sessions, reducing fatigue on hands during long technical sections where braking is sustained rather than intermittent. Reach adjust via a 3mm allen key allows precise lever positioning without tools on the trail.

The HIGO Closer integration is what separates the MT5e HC Disc Brake from standard mountain bike brakes in an e-bike context. As a normally-open system, it cuts the motor the moment the lever is engaged, eliminating the unsettling sensation of motor and brake working against each other that riders experience with non-integrated setups.
