Description

Minimal size, and maximum inflation.

You don't need to carry the kitchen sink with you when you ride, but you should at least have a tube and CO2 cartridges. Genuine Innovations' Air Chuck Elite is a compact CO2 inflator with a lifetime warranty to keep you rolling for the long haul.

The inflator features easy push-to-inflate single-hand technology. It's constructed from all metal alloy and is backed with a lifetime warranty. It is compatible with 12gm, 16gm, and 25gm threaded cartridges and the Big Air. The simple design is fully controllable so that you don't over inflate your tires. It works with both Presta and Schrader valves. It weighs only 17 grams and fits easily into your saddle bag, leaving plenty of room for tubes and a patch kit.

The Genuine Innovations Air Chuck Elite Inflator comes with one 16gm and one 20gm cartridge.

Ins & Outs Of Inflatory vs. Flattery

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

As you may know, inflatory is a whole other kettle of fish, to flattery getting one nowhere.

I read all the reviews, worth reading, that I could find - and not just the goatworthy one's - and, in the end, for me, it came down to this Innovations and the Blackburn; Being quite innovative, myself, I went that way because:

1.) The Innovations came with the two CO2s, and, being new to the game, I was curious about that 16 v. 20 gram thing, and

2.) I've been regarded, in the past, as a cheapskate, a lable I wouldn't bother to debate, even if I may not shtumpulate to the charge, in no small measure because I, personally, find the term cheapskate no little pejoratively bent, and

3.) It accepts both French and Schrader valves, and, as French is the language of love, I thought perhaps I may find another someone desirious of being helped out of the distress they find themselves in, and wouldn't that be the nicest way thinkable of passing gass? and

4.) I noticed that it's little thingy had a little hue of both a little green and a little blue, and jeepers creepers, what more could one ask for?

I was sorry to read about wserlopz's dire straights, and do hope he was able to straighten the situation out via contacting Innovations, or our Backcountry friends.

It looks to mine eyes to be truly well machined, which I figure plays well in the high pressure work-a-day world it was made to be a player in.

I'll try to update review in the event of other info rearing its ugly head in the future; For now I give it thumbs' up, and not just the one less affected by that Ulna nerve repetitive motion disorderliness, and

Have you noticed that, unless you're on a Zen bike, backpedaling doesn't, really, get you very far? and

Do take due care of yourself, you being so special to everyone and everything, and all,

Nozzle assembly blew out on 4th use.

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Worked fine the first 3 times. Last time I used it the nozzle assembly blew out (green+blue rings and the rubber ring). Could have been that the valve of the tube wasn't in the correct position to let air in at that moment.

Easy to use

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

this thing is a breeze when you end up getting a flat. I'll always have my hand pump with me, but when things go flat, this is the go to fix. Innovations has been making killer products for many, many years!

A must-have

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

A bike pump is nice, but when you're in a time crunch, CO2 is the way to go - And in all reality, when are we not in a time crunch when riding bikes. You never want to be that person holding up a group from a stoke festival on the trail. Have a CO2 in your pack so you can keep the stoke going!

What More To Add?

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Not sure if there's a whole lot I can add here that others haven't said, but really love this so gonna drop my $0.02 here.

Seriously compact, easy to use with the spring actuation and allows control of C02 being released. It does get cold when C02 is being released, I'd recommend wearing your gloves when using it.

I've used it more than I'd like over the past few years and its reliable and ease of use make it a go to for my pack.

Compact Assurance

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love how compact this kit is, it fits perfect in a small saddle bag or jersey pocket. It also makes for quick pit stops if I have a slow leak during CX races.

Total Control

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Small enough to not take up valuable space in a saddle bag leaving you with more room for other bike essentials. The controllable flow valve allows for a wide open blast or for smaller, incremental inflation. When the valve shuts, the co2 is sealed off so you aren't wasting a whole canister for one small application.

I have been very impressed with the performance of this little air chuck. (threaded CO2 cartridges only)

Lightweight and Easy to Use

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I really like the ability to control the amount of CO2 released with the variable release. Super easy to use and carries light in your bag.

If you only need to inflate a little, can you use the cartridge again later or is this a one time shot for a tire that is just a little soft?

Needs longer valve stems

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I was disappointed today when I tried to use this for the first time as my valve stems are only about 1 cm from the rims and the CO2 adapter needs just a bit more length to be buried in the device and make a good seal. Luckily, I was in my garage and not out on some trail! I will now be checking that stuff like this works before relying on it at all! Also, as mentioned in another review, since it didn't seal well, it was spraying compressed CO2 all over and was freezing cold (thin layer of ice on metal cartridge is a bad combo) - beware.

Quick fill

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is a light and durable CO2 air chuck. I really like the spring actuation, it helps ensure you get every last drop of air into your tire and none is lost. Very simple, light and easy to carry

Does the trick

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

So I bought the inflator along with some refills http://www.competitivecyclist.com/innovations-co2-refill and they are going to work out perfect. The size of both are perfect to fit into my small saddle bag http://www.competitivecyclist.com/timbuk2-seat-pack-xt along with a spare tube. This product is going to work out great and I'm ready for the next flat which hopefully doesn't come soon.

Don't Lose It!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is a fantastic little C02 kit! I like this inflator because it is so small but still has a variable release. That means that you can actually control the rate at which air flows into your tire. It comes with a 16g and 20g cartridge. I find the the inflator and the 16g cartridge are the perfect size for my Chrome Industries race saddle bag.

works great with one painful problem

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This co2 inflator is pretty great. Real simple and small. I liked mine but lost it. It's so tiny that it fell out of a carelessly zipped saddlebag. I would give this 5 stars had it not been for one thing.

When you are filling you must be careful not to get you finger pinched in the valve. when you push it on the tire a small metal disc protrudes via spring, make sure your finger is nowhere near it when you pull it off of the tube. I made this mistake and it bit a chunk of skin off my finger. OUCH!

Great for the minimalist.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Small, light, and easy to use. Without the full body of something like the Proflate you'll feel the cartridge get cold, but if you're wearing riding gloves that's minimized.

very easy to use... plain and simple.

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This CO2 inflator is so simple to use. It's sturdy and small that you won't even notice it with you when riding.

The first time I used one was when I stopped for a biker needing assistance with his flat tire. He can't figure out how to use it and was told he already wasted 2 CO2s with no success. When I used it, I was impressed how easy it was so I bought one for myself.
