Same dw-link kinematics, tougher frame: Ripley AF Deore

Ibis carried the flip chip and dw-link kinematics over from the carbon Ripley without modification, so the AF supports the same 29-inch or MX configuration and the same size-specific seat tube angles and suspension tuning across all five frame sizes. The 130mm rear and 140mm front travel numbers are identical to the carbon build, too. What changes is the frame material: aluminum instead of layup, which means the AF shrugs off rock strikes and drops that would put a dent in a carbon reputation.

What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

"The kinematics are lifted straight from the carbon frame, so the pedaling platform and the descending manners are the same bike. Where the aluminum frame pulls ahead is durability. A rock strike that would have me inspecting a carbon frame for cracks just leaves a scratch here."

Heads up! We do our best to keep bike specs and images current, but occasional component changes can happen without warning, and sometimes the photos might not show the exact build you'll receive. If you want to double-check the details, our Gearhead® Experts are always here to help.
