Ripley AF Deore build balances playful handling and reliable trail performance
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"I’ve ridden this Deore build hard and it just keeps delivering. The Ripley AF geometry is super well-balanced—it’s quick on tight corners but stable when you’re really moving. Deore 12-speed shifts flawlessly, and the DW-Link suspension climbs like a champ. For this price, it’s a serious contender for best alloy trail bike."
The Ibis Ripley AF Deore build proves that high-performance trail riding doesn’t have to break the bank. Built around Ibis’s ultra-capable aluminum frame and proven DW-Link suspension, this bike offers 130mm of rear travel and a 140mm RockShox Pike fork, giving riders a confidence-inspiring, efficient platform for everything from after-work laps to all-day epics. The DW-Link keeps rear suspension active under braking and planted on technical climbs, while the updated geometry offers a 64.9° head angle and steep seat tube for a balanced, forward-riding position.
This build kit features the workhorse Shimano Deore M6100 drivetrain, delivering 12-speed reliability and a massive 10–51T gear range to spin up punchy climbs and flow down fast descents. Stopping duties are handled by SRAM G2 R brakes with 180mm Centerline rotors, providing dependable modulation on long, demanding descents. Blackbird Send alloy wheels and Sapim D-Light spokes keep things strong and responsive, while Maxxis DHR II and Rekon tires bring fast-rolling traction and sidewall support.
Every detail of the Ripley AF Deore is trail-tuned—from internal cable routing and molded rubber frame protection to the in-frame storage system with included Stow bags. The 34.9mm KS Vantage dropper and size-specific cockpit components ensure the ride fits just right. Whether you’re building your first full-suspension setup or want a capable alloy rig that can keep up with carbon bikes, this Ripley delivers on every ride.
Heads up - We do our best to keep bike specs and images current, but occasional component changes can happen without warning-and sometimes the photos might not show the exact build you'll receive. If you want to double-check the details, our Gearheads are always here to help.
