The lever assembly uses sealed cartridge bearings at the pivot and a glide ring on the master cylinder piston to minimize friction and reduce hand fatigue. Hayes’ Stable Rate Link maintains a consistent lever ratio regardless of reach setting, ensuring predictable engagement across different hand positions. Each brake is factory set with minimal dead stroke and a clearly defined bite point for immediate feedback.

At the caliper, metal pistons improve heat stability during sustained braking, while King Pin pad retention enhances strength and serviceability.
