Chafing can be such a pain in the … well, you get it. Wear the Gore Bike Wear Base Layer Boxers as underwear on your bike commute, on the trails, or anytime a bike ride may unexpectedly become part of your itinerary. With an ergonomic seat pad and excellent moisture management, they offer the on-the-bike comforts of a cycling short without the full-compression feel of heavier spandex.
The Base Layer Boxers are made of a thin and soft polypropylene/elastane blend that wicks sweat away from your skin to the outer layer of the fabric, where it can evaporate. The 9% elastane in these boxers makes them stretchy, but not overly compressive. The elastic waistband is brushed on the inside for comfort. The few seams on the Base Layer Boxers are flat-locked to minimize abrasion, and the back is cut high so that they don't slip below your outer pants or shorts.
The Contest Man seat pad is elastic, so it moves with you, and it's designed to provide comfort over short to medium routes. The Gore Bike Wear Base Layer Boxers come in sizes Small through XX-Large. They're available in Black or White.
- Contest chamois wicks sweat to keep you comfortable during your ride
- Minimized seams and flatlock stitching reduce chafing
- Soft, elastic waistband is brushed on the inside to promote moisture transport

Lasted less then 4 Weeks
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I recently joined a local Cyclebar and wanted to add some liner shorts for my workouts during the week so I purchased 2 pairs of these liners. The first pair lasted less than 4 weeks and the waistband has ripped from the liner and created a 1 inch hole. It is possible it could be sewn, but not sure it would last. I've had Pearl Izumi liner for 5 years without issue and a pair of Gore cycling shorts for about the same period. Wish I would have saved my money. Or bought one pair to start.

Trying to get back into some cross country cycling and I thought this product was perfect in that I could wear it singly or underneath some outer garment on cooler morning rides. It's easy to throw into the wash. No CHAFFING! No bunching or pinching at the inseams as some lesser products have done. They will stretch however so squeezing into these is by trial. Wicks away excess water quite nicely.

Very average bike pad

I've used this quite a bit, and although the chamois is very good, the material of the short is pretty subpar. It does hold shape very well, the elasticity wore out quite, and it rides up constantly. There are definitely better options on this site.

Typically I am more of a hobbyist when it comes to biking, but with these on me I am likely to ride more often. They do not shift or bunch up like other pieces I have tried. They provide the protection where it is needed to prevent any kind of proctitis from an all day excursion. The best part is that they are a separate piece and can be worn with any clothing item. And for the deal that they are going for I might just pick up a spare.
