Straight up.

If there were a cycling equivalent of the all-purpose black T-Shirt, the Giro Sutton Helmet may be it. Its design is simple and straightforward: this is a bike helmet, and it does bike helmet things. No frills. No Euro-pro gimmicks. Just 100% unadulterated helmet. The Sutton's subtlety means it goes with anything form Lycra to linen, and it can fly under the radar if you wear it in to the store. If you'd rather leave it outside, its reinforced vent provides the means to lock it to your bike.

In addition to the heathered webbing and a soft rain/sun visor, the Sutton's got your standard 20-plus years of Giro safety and fit expertise poured into it. Its safety features extend beyond impact protection, though. The Sutton includes reflective elements and a clip on the back for mounting a light — either one of which may help you avoid the need to use the helmet for its intended, noodle-saving purpose by making sure you don't avoid detection in low-light situations.

Perfect commuter helmet.

If you are looking for a good casual helmet, this is the one. Easy to adjust, convenient light attachment for riding at night, and looks great. This helmet breathes well, and fits exactly how you'd want it to.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The helmet is awesome for casual city riding. it's easy to adjust for the perfect fit and it looks sweet. Pretty awesome buy

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Picked up this helmet for riding my single speed around Salt Lake City. The helmet looks a little weird at first but it has definitely grown on me. I am skeptical of how well the vents will work in the heat of Summer, but so far they have been more than enough for riding around in early Spring. The helmet does have an adjustable band and neck strap so you can get the fit dialed in just right.

    Chilling the most!

After several years of riding our vintage tandem, beach cruisers and the occasional scooter in various road/race helmets, I finally wised up and bought something aesthetically pleasing as well as functional and comfortable!
The integrated (and most often flipped up) visor sold me, but once I put it on I was pretty impressed by how comfortable the Sutton is. Easy to adjust both the chin strap and the head band system, adequate venting for evening cruises, coffee runs and The ride to work and back.
With lots of surface area in the right places, I feel pretty secure working my way through the urban jungle.
If it's a hot one outside and/or the plan is to be on the bike for longer than a couple hours, I'd most likely opt for a more vented option. ......and leave the vintage tandem at home as well.
