Description

Why We Like The Empire E70 Knit Cycling Shoe

Drawing inspiration from the running world, Giro's Empire E70 Knit Cycling Shoe gives provides us with elevated comfort and performance out on the road thanks to its unique knit upper. These kicks use Giro's newly developed Xnetic Knit technology, which is burlier and more abrasion resistant than most knit running shoes, as well as a DWR finish to fight off the elements while you ride. To create some rigidity to the shoe, Giro's designers created a skeletal system that supports our feet in areas we need it most, but still allows the knit to provide its supple stretch and next-level breathability for sock-like comfort on long rides.

  • Knit cycling kicks for boosting comfort on the road
  • Xnetic knit elevates athletic knit technology
  • Ultra-breathable and lightweight construction
  • TPU skeletal system adds a supportive structure
  • Clean with ease and shed water thanks to DWR treatment
  • Carbon fiber sole is stiff and responsive under power
  • Molded EVA footbed provides medium arch support
  • Replaceable heel pads prolong the shoe's life

Pay Attention to Sizing

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

I haven't used these yet BUT I wanted to write a review on the sizing. In most European sizing I'm a 38 (US 8) so I didn't hesitate to order a 38 in my first pair of cycling shoes. Long story short, I had to size all the way up to a 40 for the perfect fit. Now that that's out of the way I'm looking forward to putting these to use! I will update the review as soon as I do.

Hello I have a question with sizing. Mi feet mesure 25.5 cm (10 in), which size would fit me best?

How do I use the cleat guide (I presume) lines and numbers on the outer sole?

It is a guide to setup the cleats, it is so you can compare right and left shoe. Cleat placement is personal and will be different for each person.

I used the fitting guide and ended up with a great fit (facilitated by knit material and laces), snug but comfortable. Too early to judge comfort in heat, but surely the knit material will help. I wish I could find out how to use the lines and numbers on the outer sole (cleat guides).

Those lines/guides/numbers are just there as a reference so you can match the left/right cleat position. The actual position you choose is very personal. Best to start with a central location (middle front to back and left to right) and work from there.
