Garmin HRM

So interesting. I've had exactly the same experience. The HRM stopped working in the middle of a long ride. After changing the battery and cleaning the contacts, it now doesn't read for the first 20-30 minutes of a ride and will intermittently read 72 bpm. When it does connect, it works fine. I have all Garmin gear, so feel like i have no other options but to replace a monitor with known issues. NB- this happened after 2 + years of riding...

I have had very similar experiences like Michael R had as he wrote below. Sometimes it does not work for 10-15 minutes and then it starts and works well or stops working later on. 3 out of 4 times it would work fine with no issues..
