Why We Like The Freerider Pro Cycling Shoe

We like Five Ten mountain bike shoes for their lightness and toughness that helps us take on our favorite trails. Built with durable, low-profile uppers and an impact-resistant toe box, the Freerider Pro Cycling Shoes are ideal for enduro and all-mountain riding. The sticky Stealth rubber keeps your feet confidently planted on the pedals when you're charging down steep chutes and chunky rock gardens, and the medium-flex construction offers a nice balance between on-bike responsiveness and off-bike comfort.

Unbelievably Grippy!

This is my first pair of bike centric shoes. I’ve always worn skate shoes or sambas when mountain biking which have been fine but my buddy told me to try these. They are UNREAL! Sometimes they grip the pedals too well to where I can’t adjust as easily as I previously able to so that will take some time to get used to. But, not a bad thing! These are awesome.

Cheap feel at a high price.

These shoes feel like they’re made of cheap, kid dress shoe, plastic. I’d avoid this model, and look for canvas or leather uppers. Quality feels low, materials cheap, and feet sweaty. Can’t wait to throw them away.

What happened to the Freerider??

I've owned several pair of Five Ten FreeRider's and these were by far the worst. The front rand of the shoe warped so badly that I could not wear them. On top of that, the rubber on the soles was not nearly as tacky as previous versions and the rubber fell apart very quickly.

Quality has decreased since my first pair

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Loved my last pair! This pair is already starting to fall apart. Unacceptable.

Sticky

Best bike shoes i’ve ever worn. Super sticky and the sole is stiff enough so you never feel uncomfortable even after hours of riding.

Low quality.

Since Adidas bought Five Ten, the quality has decreased drastically. These shoes only last a few months before having holes in the sole and worn out rubber. Disappointing.

These shoes work great

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

This is my third pair of this brand and model. Love these things. Decided to get a backup pair due to wet weekend days back to back. (don't ride muddy trails, but rain will happen in the mountains) This particular pair I bought was the bright orange and yellow. FYI, The picture on the website was toned down quite a bit because they are basically neon orange rather than how they appear in the photo. But otherwise the same trusty shoe. I have wide feet and struggle to find outdoor shoes that work well with my flat feet. I buy a full size larger in these and they fit perfect. (i.e. normally wear 10.5, I buy 11.5)
