When you're coasting, your bike shouldn't be trying to pedal itself. That speed-sapping, noisy drag in your freehub body can cost you valuable momentum. The only way to replace that lost speed? More effort from you. Low-friction Dumonde Tech Freehub Oil lubricates the mechanisms in your standard pawl freehub, ensuring that drag is reduced to a minimum.

This oil is lightweight, so it resists the oxidation process that causes heavier greases to become thicker and stickier with age. And with a flow point of -40 degrees, Freehub Oil is well-suited for riding in lower temperatures.

When applying to the freehub, follow the manufacturer's specification for the required volume. Most manufacturers of standard pawl freehubs recommend lightweight oil such as Freehub Oil instead of traditional grease, which can cause pawls to stick and lead to slipping.

Because of its light weight, Dumonde Tech Freehub Oil can multi-task as cable and brake lever lubricant. Freehub Oil comes in 1oz and 4oz bottles.

For i9 Hub

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have this paired with dumonde grease (grease not necessary unless you want to reduce hub noise) per i9's service recommendations. It's a straightforward product and you get enough to perform many services. Good stuff, will buy again when the time comes.

No more chain grab

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

My Mavic Crossrides were screaming at me like a Yeti chasing me down the trail, it was the chain rubbing on the tire. Put this on the rear hub once I got home, no more Yeti!!! Bike is smooth and quiet like new.

Use w/ Industry 9 hubs

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Picked up some of this to service my i9 hubs. Plenty of oil for many rounds of service.

see here for manuals on how to service yours if you have the same hubs:

I was looking for the best freehub oil for its price and I came to this. Amazing low friction and almost, if not better, as good as the factory oil my wheel set came with. Highly recommend

Agreed - best and simplest way to keep your wheels going for miles :)

slippery goodness

this stuff is amazing. at the direction of I9 i purchased this for their freehub. It works great and the best part is that is wipes clean and can be refreshed in minutes. no greasy goop and mess. dig it!

Works in the COOOOLD

This if a fab lube for Snowbike/Fatbike for those that ride in the snow and ice of winter.

Have not and most likely never ride in -40 degree temps, but freezing temps I have never experienced an engagement issue. A needed lube for the tool box.

Oh yeah, works good in cable housings
