Great clinchers love great tubes
We could go on and on about the benefits of low rotational weight, but at the end of the day, you just need a tube that's lightweight and tough -- a tube like the Continental Race Tube. Offering substantial weight savings over throw-away bulk tubes, the Race Tube lives up its name while still supplying ample protection from roadside debris. So, when you're looking to shave grams on race day, the Race Tube is the obvious pairing for your carbon clinchers.
The Continental Race Tube is available in a 700c x 18-25mm size with the option of either a 42 or 60mm Presta valve. For your classic build, it's also being offered in a 27in x 1-3/4in size.

One good and one bad
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Fit:
- True to size
- Height
- 5` 9"
- Weight
- 160 lbs
I bought 3 tubes and have only used 2 so far. I had a flat on my ride today so put in a new tube and it immediately went flat. Upon inspection I determined there was a crack in the tube on a fold. I put in a second tube and fortunately it worked fine but one defective plus a wasted CO2 cartridge and took twice as long to do the repair. Hopefully this was just a fluke.

Probably OK if you have thin tires and are tired of leaks. but they are heavy and should not be advertised as racing tubes.

tube split at 100 psi
Just bought two of these tubes and installed one this morning. Pumped up the tire to 100 psi and when I came out this evening, the tire was flat. Pulled it from the wheel and saw that it had split down the seam near the valve. Split was a good 1+ inches long.

Defective
Opened a tube today after a flat. Spent forever trying to pump it up. Turns out this fresh tube was riddled with holes! Defective junk.

If I have 25mm tires should I get the 18-25 or 25-32?

Hey Gray, I sized up to the 25-32 on my 25s. My fiance rides with bigger tires, so I figured it makes sense for a backup tube in case either of us have a flat. Seems to work well for me!

Seams are good
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Some say the seams are bad and it seems that is wrong. I have used these many times and never an issue. They are a little thicker too, just a little added extra protection. Use them, like them, love them

Junk 3 of 4 blow in one week. Bad seams!
Don't buy these online (from here) to be safe. I love these tubes and have run them for years but CC is selling bad product. A bad batch..... 3 of the 4 I bought blew in a week. LBS showed me how the seams were splitting and I was only loading them up to a pre-set pressure of 100 PSI. Total garbage. Never buying tubes online again....

Rubbery Goodness

I needed a tube that would work on my 28c tires and my 50mm rims. BOOM this tube does exactly that. Good weight, great quality control, no issues. I patch and reuse tubes so it is important to start with a good tube, to begin with. Stoked on Conti! I purchased the 25-32 60mm

I am riding Gatorskin 28mm tires. Does this mean I should get the 700x25-32mm?

yes that is correct

Would buy again
As tubes go, you can't do much better than this. If i raced on the road more, I'd consider the lighter ones, but on a training bike, I wanted the extra security of slightly thicker rubber.

Hey Gray, You could with either tube. The 18-25 would save a bit of weight. It is up to you though. they will both work with those tires.
