That's why the folks at Clif Bar set out to create another energy food option that complements their bars and gels. The result is Clif Shot Bloks. They're simple-to-handle, easy-to-chew, and provide similar nutrition to Shot gel, so they'll fit seamlessly into your training and racing nutrition program.

The primary ingredient for Shot Bloks is brown rice syrup which provides easily assimilated carbohydrates for working muscles, and they provide the mineral salts known as electrolytes. These electrolytes allow electrical impulses to travel properly throughout your body, permitting normal bodily function. When you sweat, you start to deplete your electrolyte stores and experience potential performance decline, so it's best to help replenish them through food and fluid intake.

Clif created Shot Bloks, each in a 10g size, so that 3 Bloks provide 100 calories. That makes it easy to track caloric intake during long outings. There are 6 Bloks to a single serve package, so one package provides 200 calories.

In one order of Shot Bloks you'll get 18 individual 6-Blok packages. The individual packages slide easily into your jersey pocket for quick access while taking up minimal space. This design also keeps it simple to squeeze the Bloks directly into your mouth for single handed re-fueling. Bloks are available in Black Cherry, Cola, Orange, Margarita, Cran Razz, Lemon Lime, Mountain Berry and Strawberry. Black Cherry and Cola have 50mg caffeine, Orange has 25mg. Margarita has 3x the sodium while the remaining Shot Bloks offer no additional stimulants. Please be forewarned that you're all-but-certain to get terribly addicted. Mountain Berry Deliciousness!

Whatever your outdoor needs are, these Clif bloks will help you get through the day with optimal energy and no crash. They are easy to pack and so yummy to eat. Use it for any activity you need a little extra boost. The full bar is not needed. I pop one cube in before a hike, during, and then after. I have also left them in my car by accident in 100 degree weather FYI. No sticky mess! #winning

I love these energy chews, especially the caffeine version. They taste great, are easily digestible, and perfect for a quick boost of energy on the trail or long climb. Lots of great flavors to choose from as well!

This is my go to product for long bike rides. It provides great energy and is easy on your stomach. I recently used this product along with a couple regular cliff bars on a century ride around Bear Lake, UT and it worked perfectly. It provides calories, carbs and electrolytes eliminating the need to consume three different products and I highly recommend this product.

These are the best for any activity! I use them for ski touring, cycling, running, hiking, and climbing. If these don't actually make your activities safer, you'll certainly feel like they do.

but not really, these are just tasty little energy boosts while doing any activity that tastes great help you sweat less and keep your liquids for yourself! Also, I feel like these always work better if you yell something ridiculous as you're eating them it helps to activate the electrolytes and fruity deliciousness for maximum awesomeness.

Safer Than Real Margaritas on a Ride

    Yes, the Margarita flavor is one of my go-to's for centuries. I find these much more palatable after 70 miles than Clif Bars and the extra sodium is delicious. Other flavors are decent too although I haven't worked up the nerve to try Spearmint.

      I ordered the black cherry with Caffeine and they taste so good. They're like black cherry kool-aid with caffeine. Clif knows what they're doing here.

      The orange with caffeine is super tasty. I like to take a pack on longer hikes to get that little burst of extra energy towards the end of the hike.

        Love these, I can always stuff my face no matter how nervous I am before a race with these. If I'm doing a Crit I'll lick them and line up a row on the top tube, I don't recommend licking them for any dirt rides, they get a little gritty! Gel shots are a thing of the past, these are so easy to eat, no sticky fingers, and my jersey pocket does look like a toddler's face at the chocolate factory. Cliff Shot Bloks are my go to nutrition on the bike, don't leave home without it.

        I carry a pack of these on every single long ride or run I go on. I usually take one or two before the workout, and then several throughout. The caffeine helps give that extra burst of energy that you often need to finish the workout strong!

        Say goodbye to gels

        I picked these up before an ultra as I have gotten a little sick of gels. The tropical punch with the caffeine helped give me the rocket fuel I needed to push through and come out at the finish line. The texture of gels had started to bug me so I figured gummies would be the next step and I certainly am not disappointed.
