The Challenge Gravine XP Tubeless Tire represents the convergence of two distinct engineering priorities that are rarely found together in a single gravel tire: the most aggressive tread pattern in Challenge's lineup and the XP series Xtra Protection reinforcement system designed for the high-speed, low-pressure, rough terrain conditions where sidewall integrity becomes the deciding factor between finishing a ride and walking home. The Gravine tread architecture is built for conditions that overwhelm conventional gravel tire designs. Increased tread depth sustains braking traction and cornering grip on loose gravel and rocky terrain where shallower patterns lose contact and predictability under hard riding loads. Wide-spaced knobs prevent mud and loose dirt from packing into the tread, maintaining consistent grip in saturated and heavily loose conditions where tighter patterns become ineffective. This tread design was developed specifically for the severe terrain conditions that fall outside the operating range of all-condition gravel tires, and the XP construction extends its operating range further by reinforcing the areas of the tire most vulnerable to aggressive use.

XP Xtra Protection adds reinforcement under the tread and throughout the sidewalls, specifically addressing the lateral cuts and high-impact punctures that result from running low pressures on sharp and unpredictable surfaces at speed. The 260TPI Super Polyester casing underneath that reinforcement delivers the handmade suppleness and terrain conformity that Challenge's small-batch assembly process produces, maintaining ride quality and casing compliance in both the 700x40C at 545g and 700x45C at 635g size options. Running tubeless on hookless compatible rims at lower pressures maximizes the casing's compliance potential and keeps the aggressive tread working at its most effective on the rough surfaces it was designed for.
