Summer Skullcap
When helmet padding just won't cut it to keep the sweat out of your eyes on mid-summer rides, don the Castelli Summer Skullcap to keep cool and dry. Made to sit unobtrusively under your helmet, this cap is constructed of a wicking layer around the headband to sop up sweat and keep your eyes sting-free. Across the top, a mesh layer provides oodles of ventilation and protects your dome from harmful sun rays for cool, worry-free miles.

I bought this to keep my head protected from the sun. It protects very good and more. Wet it before riding in extreme heat and helps keep cool. Keeps the sweat from coming down into eyes or on sunglasses lenses really well. No sunburns on head!!!

So far so good, keeps sweat out my eyes and protects top of the head from the sun. We’ll see how it works when the heat and humidity get kicking!

Fits My Smaller Size Head
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Height:

I'm always concerned with hats or anything on my head as the sizing always runs a bit big. This one feels snug. I don't think I placed it correctly the first time and it came loose. I haven't had a chance to test it out in warm/hot conditions yet to know how well it wicks moisture. It's been relatively cool in the mornings right now.

Helps with sweat management
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Love having these skull caps for riding, weather it's summer or winter, it helps keep the sweat out of your face and eyes. Stretches a bit over use, but that's years of use. So for the price, it's a great investment, as this is my second Castelli skull cap. This is really meant for warmer weather, as it only covers your head and doesn't come down over your ears. But does great with that.

Great Skullcap for warmer months

This skullcap fits comfortably and kept the sweat out of my eyes. I have yet to use this skullcap on a real hot (90F) day, but so far on 70-80F rides it has kept my head cool and sweat at bay. I wear a large size helmet and found no issues with the single size. I read other reviews and all mentioned a sizing issue as this is a one size product.. perhaps this is no longer the case.

Works as intended for me

Works nicely to keep sweat out of my eyes and sunglasses. I also have a few of the Giro skull caps, but I prefer the thinner material of the Castelli cap for hot summer weather. Also, the Castelli cap lays flat and smooth under the helmet, whereas the Giro has two pronounced seams which may affect fit or comfort for some. A note on sizing: As others have stated, this cap fits tightly, but Castelli may have recently adjusted the sizing, as my second one of these has a more forgiving fit. The first was uncomfortably tight, but it stretched out after several uses/wash cycles and is very comfortable now. For reference I wear a POC Omne Air Spin helmet size M. Head circumference is 57.5cm.
