Mortirolo Glove
Some claim it to be the hardest climb in professional cycling, and some avoid it altogether. However, Castelli’s designs the Mortirolo Glove after cycling’s infamous climb and draws inspiration from the mixed weather that tends to occupy its switchbacks. Constructed with Gore-Tex Infinium Windstopper fabric that provides windproof protection and splash resistance from looming clouds and fog, the Mortirolo is rated to withstand 45-59 degree F conditions with ease. The silicone grip seems confident on the bars even in the wet, and the convenient back-of-hand zipper is easy to use while stopping at the café stop near the summit.

Zipper busted
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
If the zipper didn't bust, these would be a really good glove.

Don't keep hands warm, otherwise great.

- I've used it several times
The fit is great. I like the zipper thing. Great feel and grip on the bars. But they don't keep my hands warm. I tested on a ride in the low 40s with this glove on one hand and a much lighter glove on the other. I couldn't feel the difference, both hands were equally cold. I guess you'd be ok wearing them in the upper 40s or low 50s but at that point you might as well wear a thinner, less expensive glove.

Missing a key element

A nicely made glove even with a challenging zipper. You can get used to after enough practice time so no worries. The missing element is not being able to use your devices. These would be great if you didn't have to take the glove off to confirm your location when out exploring new areas. Don't know why that was omitted in the world of tech we live in today and especially at this price point. True to size and agree with the suggested temps. If you have a liner glove, that can give you an extra 5-10 degrees to work with. I've had many rides where this fell into the suggested temps but had to opt for my back up when exploring rides. In short, if you are familiar with where you are, don't take photos, or ride tech free, this is the glove for you for the suggest temp. I found these on sale, but wouldn't buy them again.

Over all great, warm gloves but...

Update: The gloves don't interact well with an iPhone touch screen and garmin screen. I have to lick my finger for it to work The zipper is a bit hard to operate. I wish they have used a bigger one. But I guess you don't need to use. Gloves are soft and it is easy to handle hoods.

The rest is aweeesome , fits great, I have used this gloves in rides into the high 30's I do run very hot. this have done great. I have gotten cold only when I sweat a little too much and at the end of the ride gets cooler. The grip is superb. I used them once a week since January. Not a cold weather glove for most people. However, excellent for spring, fall and some winter.

As advertised

Bought a M, 'cause I wear a medium in about everything, and the fit is great. I have worn these into the low 40's, Anything below 45, and I begin to get uncomfortable. Though that is exactly as advertised, I expected better cold weather performance. I think some warmer blooded people will be fine a lower temps. They are well made and comfortable. I definitely recommend for the advertised purpose.

Pros: great feel, keeps wind at bay; warm for cool weather Cons: runs small, zipper can be difficult to unzip which was supposed to be a key selling point. Probably not the best for cold weather
