Cervelo Soloist tugs at the heartstrings of every rider who’s in it for the love of it. A person walks around the bike in a workstand.

Cervélo Soloist

One of our office's most popular road bikes is Cervelo’s kick-ass Soloist. It’s a bike to feel good about biking. Not only does it manhandle urban rides and crit courses, but it’s designed with the goods to set out on unstructured weekend rides with ease, too. Built for it all and with a price point more can get behind, Soloist is a bike not to sleep on.

How’s It Ride?

Like it’s made for the classics, blended to be equal parts aero and lightweight with handling that ticks off wicked lap times on the streets, Soloist is a rider’s bike. It’s peppy, solid, and has an unmatched depth of versatility—especially at this price point. Some may talk about it being a wee hefty on climbs, but it’s not supposed to be an R5 or Aethos. It’s a budget-friendly, amateur racer’s best friend.

Wee, so fast.

Does it get better than golden hour with a golden bike? Probably not.

How Ours Is Equipped

Shimano’s mid-tier Ultegra Di2 shines on the Soloist and reflects the bike’s every-rider intent. It keeps costs down without slowing it down. Semi-compact gearing works well here, too, bringing just enough teeth to satisfy an amateur racer’s calendar without overloading the rec rider’s system on a climb. Paired with the balanced depths of the Reserve 40/44 wheels, this Soloist is a certified steal at sub $7k.
