Clean CamelBak >>> Replacement CamelBak

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Gets the job done.

Good as New

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Follow the easy directions and get rid of that gnarly taste. If you have a bigger bladder you may need two, but luckily it comes with a bunch.

It works.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Just fill up your pack, throw in a tablet, and let the magic happen. Super easy to use and definitely makes my reservoir look and taste fresh.

Does what it says it does

Nothing fancy here, it just works. Clean and fresh.

Game Changer

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I'll admit, I had my bladder for 10 months without really cleaning it (insert horrific gasp) and the water tasted neglected to say the least. I thought it was past the point of no return but with one last ditch effort I purchased these tablets and like magic, I had fresh, spring drinking water on-the-go straight from my CamelBak!

The instructions are fool-proof and it only takes 5 minutes (that's a mere 300 seconds) to clean the bladder completely! I couldn't believe how simple and quick it was. And for a pretty neglected bladder one tablet did the trick.

So ... why didn't anyone tell me these tablets were so magical!?!?! Never living without them again!

Necessity

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Get a few packs of these if you use your hydration bag often, and even if you don't. Those tubes and flimsy bags don't dry well and get funky. These tabs will clean them out so the water tastes like water next time you need it.

Your saving grace if you own a bladder.

These tablets are the best way to clean your hydration bladder. Simple to use and quick.

Works great.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Nothings worse than a rank bladder and nothing's better than these at cleaning out the stank. I do find that I need to double the dose on my 3 liter bag.

easy to use

quite frankly, i'm impressed i even cleaned my camelbak, but it paid off because now my water does not taste like three years of funk.

    Clean your Bak

I love CamelBak products but their cleaning products are expensive gimmicks. If you rinse your bladder out right when you get home with a common product you may already have in your home, denture cleaner, mouthwash, hydrogen peroxide, a little bleach, baking soda, etc. to kill any bacteria and store it in freezer you should have no issues. My favorite is 3-4 denture tablets over night, rinse, roll the bladder and store in a freezer bag to prevent the freezer burn taste. Now get outside!

      Clean your Bak

      Are these really necessary?

Although I've never used this product I question its usefulness. There are definitely less expensive alternatives that do the same job. I mix ¼ cup of Listerine (any mouthwash will do) with ¾ cup of water and shake it up in the bladder. They I draw the fluid from the mouthpiece to clean out the tube and mouthpiece. The next step is to drain any remaining fluid from the bladder but DO NOT rinse out any residual mixture. You can do that right before you use the bladder the next time. Store the bladder in the refrigerator until next use. I’ve been doing this for years and have never had a mold issue. Plus, if you forget to rinse all the fluid before you use it next, your breath will be minty fresh! ;-).

I'm such a dork:( I just purchased more hoses...I always forget to clean the camelbak after ski season..'cause it hasn't ended in CA yet!! and we will be able to randonee through ?? end of August, If this heat spell ever ends:( I use the mouthwash on everything=from peach leaf curl to all types of bacterial or fungal sites ..on the horses, cats, poor husband & myself. thanks for the reminder...even Everclear didn't help in the camelbak hose:(

        They Work

These work but are very pricey. I have found that using denture cleaning tablets work just as well and are much cheaper. Just make sure to buy the non-flavored tabs or your water will taste like mint.

I've been using denture cleaner for years... Way cheaper!

          Work Great

They work great, but cleaning your camelbak is way-too close to doing dishes.
Not enjoyable, but a necessity of life.

The tabs work great to get the black mold out if it's been sitting for a while.

            Bad Taste

These are useful to clean the difficult to reach places in water bladders and narrow mouth bottles, but the first couple of times after the cleaning you can taste the chemicals. I try to rinse it a few times before use, but it seems I can never get rid of it all.

              Clean as a Vhisle

I would suggest these and buying the cleaning kit that BC sells...I left a review that product page for other items to use to clean the bladders
