I bought this to replace my old Scott helmet because the shape fits me well, and it has a 5-star crash rating in the VA tech tests. The color, the adjustment in the dial, cradle, and straps are all awesome. But I took one star off because I don't like the new MIPS system that is built-in to the helmet itself. The fit is slightly round, which works for me. I find it similar to a Giro and Lazer. I wear the M or M/L in all 3 brands. The cradle is easily adjustable up and down on the back of the head. The Y-shaped ear strap adjusters are the best IMO. They stay put, and are comfortable. The design, for me, is a step backwards. I liked the older style helmet with less individual vents and a smoother top. In my view, lots of small individual vents looks like a less clean design, and a bit dated. But that really doesn't impact the functionality (maybe slightly less aero with all those vents on top). The main issue with this helmet is that Scott chose to go with the new MIPS design, which is integrated permanently into the pads of the helmet. This means the pads are now non-removable for cleaning, adjustment, or replacement. Indeed, instructions forbid you to tamper with them, and cleaning instructions are "run the whole helmet under cold water". More vents, with smaller ridges means the integrated MIPS+pads are narrower and less comfortable. But the worst part for me is the helmet's life span is now the same as the life of the pads, if you want working MIPS protection (I definitely do). I've replaced the forehead pad and others at least once (sometimes more) in every helmet I've owned, including my old version of this helmet. Basically, I got 6+ years of my previous model with the old MIPS plastic liner. If the pads are not 100% more durable, then i will only get around 3 from this one. That doesn't work for my pocket book, and I don't like that it doubles the amount of styrofoam waste if I want a helmet with MIPS. I won't buy another of these integrated MIPS+pads helmets again if I can still get the original version.
