Brighten up.

You can never go wrong with a classic pair of black bib shorts, but some rides call for the Euro flair and bright comfort of Santini's Primo Men's Bib Shorts. Fashioned from Thunderbike Power fabric, these bib shorts are stretchy enough to allow full freedom of movement while also providing a touch of fatigue-fighting support for your muscles. The fiber strength and knit of Thunderbike also happen to give the shorts a heightened level durability and resistance to abrasion.

In addition to its supportive characteristics, Santini chose Thunderbike for its highly breathable and fast-drying capabilities to deliver the ideal mix of support and temperature control. Inside, Santini trusts its GITevo chamois to lend the right amounts of cushion and support as you spend hours in the saddle, with breathable foam arranged to move with you as you ride and a gel core providing added long-mile comfort.

  • This cycling bib short adds a pop of color to any ride
  • Stretchy, slightly compressive fabrics fight off fatigue
  • Gel core chamois provides supportive comfort without extra bulk
  • Silicone leg grippers hold hems comfortably in place
  • Lightweight mesh bibs keep things cool on hot summer climbs

Great Bibs

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Small

For some time I had only used Giordana bibs, but recently found Santini and love them even more than Giordana. The Santini has an excellent feel and quality, the pad works really well and the size is spot on for my short and athletic build. Most bibs tend to be a little long in the inseam, but the Santani seem to be a little shorter so they fit right.

I mostly wear them for Mtn biking, they hold up well for short and all day rides, the pad is better than Girodana for rougher rides.

I have a red and blue pair, I dont find them very "revealing" as another reviewer noted, in terms they are no more see through than a black pair, but they are bright colours that buck the black spandex crowd.

Wore it then bought a second pair

Great bib shorts, excellent chamois, great price. I went on several rides in my first pair and liked them so much that I bought a second pair. Very supportive. Nice elastic cuffs.

almost great

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: Small

Wore these for about 600 miles so far. Comfy, but I have a wear spot from saddle. Sadly, these will last one MAYBE two seasons. I'm in-between a S and M. Stuck with the small because the actual short fit better. Bib straps are a bit tight when standing in the small but in riding position it's great.

Very Sheer

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Large

I cannot comment on the comfort of the shorts, as I did not get past the initial try on before noticing just how sheer these bibs are. I ordered the red color and it is very surprisingly revealing, even in the non-mesh areas. I would be far too embarrassed to wear these during the day and will unfortunately be returning.

I noticed the same thing with the red, however, the chamois covers all of the important spots. I didn't have an issue with this. I can tell you that the marine blue does not have the same issue as I have a pair of those as well.

Outstanding

These bibs are about an inch shorter than the cannonades I have but they are outstanding. I ride a lot (200+ miles per week). My

Excellent bibs

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: XXL

I've used Santini bibs for many years and they are my favorite of all I've tried. I really love the Twist Gel chamois, it works the best for me. These are advertised as Primo bibs, but the tag says Gara. Doesn't make a difference to me, because these are the best bibs I've ever used. Super comfortable, fit is great, chamois is perfect, fantastic quality. I'll be getting another pair soon.

Great for the price

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: XXL

Very happy with these especially for the lower price. They seem to be well made and I've found them quite comfortable on longer rides. I will say that they run a bit smaller than most brands...I originally ordered an XL (I'm 215lbs with 36" waist, usually wear XL in Pearl Izumi clothing) and had to return it. Way too small. XXL was good for me.

Sweet spot

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

Of the 3 pairs of bibs I currently own, these are the ones I'd suggest to a friend... My other pairs are more expensive and cheaper - these are in the sweet spot of price and quality. The fabric is good, doesn't feel like I'm going to tear it when pulling them on in the early morning. The suspenders are solid and well ventilated - the chamois is high quality. Overall, I think this is what most 3-4 days per week cyclists should buy. Right amount of money, right amount of quality.

Does the job well

While bib shorts should be tested on a few rides I gave these buns a trial by fire by wearing it the first time at a race. These fit really well and I find the amount/density of the chamois just right. As a sprinter/crit racer these support my thighs really well

Excellent Value

I purchased a red and a black pair. Quality garment. Excellent fit, great chamois. At this price I think I might have to buy two more pairs. I usually use Assos and Castelli. These are every bit as good!

Great Bib

  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: Small

It feels like a quality bib when you put it on, with a nice chamois and comfortable leg bands. I'm 5'9" 155lbs with an average build and purchased a small, and if I was any bigger by even the smallest amount, they would be too small. The material in the legs and straps have plenty of stretch, but I can feel the straps pulling on my shoulders a bit.
I'm keeping them because i'm sure they'll stretch out.

Comfort and quality in one piece...Ecco!

I received them yesterday and immediately tried them, they fitted great; I used them this morning for a 40 miles indoor training and they are the most comfortable bibs I have ever used.

Wondering if you might be able to help me out... I'm trying to buy some cycling bibs for my husband. He is about 5'2" and wears an XS. He always struggles with the legs being too long and hitting him right at the bend in his knee. Do you think these would work, or do you think he'd still have the length problem? Thanks in advance for any advice you can provide.
